COMPLETE waste of money. There is no way to remove scratches. Theyre all gimmicks.

I tried displex 6 and it did nothing. Its not supposed to be used on touchscreen phones anyway.

Displex will work in some cases (like clear polycarbonates), but none of these plastics are used on Omnia...

Try:

Toothpaste

Brasso

T-Cut

Car polish

Talc

These will get out very minor scratches.

Ok, I bought some Displex, and now am having second thoughts because of posts like these. Anyone had any recent success or failure with it? I'm willing to give it a try, and if it doesn't work, no big deal. However, I do not want it to actually ruin the screen. Anyone?

If used it on my Omnia, and it works very good, if you do it a half an hour. It only removes the small scratches!

Cheers

this has been posted before, but it seemed to make sense to repost here. I have been using this on my onmnia (screen only) for about a month now with no other case and it still works a treat. In my oppinion the screen is worth every penny.

I am not so sure about the full body kit. seems like overkill, esp on a phone with a replaceable back cover.

Also, if you happen to live near a Best Buy, you can pay the mobile people like $7 to install it for you. i went that rout because i utterly detest installing this type of think myself.

i've been using the zagg invisible shield for 3 months now and it's awesome. i have the full body kit and the corners are starting to coming up. i tried to stick them down again with the solution but the corners were dirty with pocket lint. so i just cut off the the "dirty" area. but the front screen hanging in there like a trooper.

Zagg is the way to go... I am using the full body and no scratches at all... only a minor peeling but zagg replaced it -in only paid 3 dlrs for shipping (on replacement).

Great product... most of my friends are using it now in their gadgets.

I have it on my camera, my wife's phone and camera too.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the screen protector tips, I've already purchased one, but wanted to try to get the scratches out before I put one on. So if anyone else has an scratch removal or treatment advice, I'm all ears.

If you'd look at the youtube displex commercial you would see that it says "not for touchscreen phones" so i wouldn't put this on my screen.

Yeah, I've seen the warnings on touchscreens, but I'm thinking I might try it anyways. The scratch bugs me, and I'm willing to risk it. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone else was bold enough to try it. I wonder if the touchscreen warning is only because they haven't tested it sufficiently on touchscreens, or if it's because it will actually damage them. I guess the alternatives are to just deal with the scratch as is or replace my i910 screen (if that's possible, I've seen replacements for i900s, I thought i910 was slightly different). Thanks for the warning, you can say I told you so after I break it!

Did anyone end up trying displex? I'm thinking of trying it myself also. I got one scratch like dead center on my screen now and I hate it. I ordered a screen protector online but I'd like to get rid of the scratch first.

I think the Omnia would be ok because the actual LCD is underneath a protective replaceable screen(which if it comes to it, I'll replace the thing but I don't really feel like taking it apart and spending $30+ for it right now. Phones like the iPhone use Capacitive screens which rely on their surface to know where you're pushing. The omnia is resistive and you're basically squishing layers together below the outside layer of the screen.

My ONLY worry in using something like Displex is ruining the visibility. They put like anti-glare stuff on these, and I don't know how that works. If the whole outside cover is the same material it'll be fine. I'm just afraid they put a super thin layer of anti-glare paint or whatever on top and it'll rub off or look hazy or something.

It didnt work for me, no matter how hard or long I tried, the sctraches didnt come off, even the small light ones. I ended up replacing the digitizer to have a brand new looking screen =)

I'm tempted to do that also if I have to. I couldn't seem to find any for the 910 specifically. Is there any difference vs. the 900 model other than the hole for the front camera or whatever that is on the top right of the 900?

ummm hello, i said back in december (the second post in this thread) that displex is a COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF MONEY...DO NOT PURCHASE IT OR TRY IT.

I HAVE ALREADY TRIED IT ON THE OMNIA, AND IT DID ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NOTHING. IT DIDNT RUIN THE SCREEN OR ANYTHING, BUT THE SCRATCHES ARE STILL THERE. I RUBBED THE SOLUTION ON THE SCREEN AS HARD AS I COULD FOR LIKE A HALF HOUR, AND NOTHING HAPPENED!!!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT, IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!

As far as i know the i900 screen works on the i910. There's a sticky at the top about changing the screen, i think there is some info in there about it.

No more Invisible Shield for me. The full body kit worked a while but it attracts too much lint LoL

The invisible sheild will cover up some scraches if its not to deep

also the screen piece is the same for both i900 and i910

Well, I chickened out. I posted a while ago and said I'd try the displex, but I just didn't get a good enough feel that it would actually work on the Omnia. So I still have a crappy scratch across the middle of the screen. I will post if I get bold and try it, but I wouldn't bet on it. I was surprised to see someone say that it does work somewhat though...

Displex, ~$7 might help with very minor scratches.

Screen protector ~$2-$8 Will cover and fill most light to medium scratches.

New touch panel ~$18 No more scratches, better sensitivity.

Well, I ordered myself a screen protector from ebay and a tube of the Displex. Sorry somedude, I know you already yelled at me for asking if anyone used it and told me it doesn't work, but I've gotta see for myself. For a few bucks its worth trying in my eyes. Seems some other people have had good results with it so we'll see what happens.

I've got a few minor scrapes from normal wear and tear that I expect will go away. The main scratch I somehow got is almost a 1/2 inch right in the dead center of the screen. I hate it. Its deep enough that I can feel it with my nail, but not like a HUGE gouge. I'm hoping that with enough patience and effort I can smooth it out pretty well, then cover the thing with the protector.

Worst case I'll order a new digitizer from Ebay for like $30. Either way, I'm getting rid of these scratches one way or another! I'll try and snap a few pictures of before and after if I actually make any progress with this stuff.

displex will not rid that deep scratch, its designed for and works well removing surface scuffs, pretty much like t-cut does on a car, deep scratches are damaged plastics.
