Guest Chris Southern Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Hi Just got an Omnia this week but I'm having trouble selecting a track (i.e. MP3 or AAC) to use as my ringtone. I've put the track into the 'My Ringtones' folder but then how do I select it as my ringtone? Thanks Chris
Guest Tonza Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 you just "right click" it and select "set as ringtone" or something like that in the menu. The system puts the file in the right location automatically. Also, if you have already moved the file, you can try if it is visible in the ringtone-selection menu. (personal->sound)

Guest dblaron123 Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 (edited) There is no selection called 'set as ringtone'. Plus, the track is not in the ringtone selection menue - sorry hello dont move the mp3 to my ringtones... move it too the rings folder... you'll find the rings folder in /file explorer/ go in /my device/ then go in /windows/ look for /rings/ open the rings folder and paste the mp3 file you want as your ringtone, high light the mp3 file you want to set , press and hold the high lighted option until menu opens ... then select /set as ringtone/ and your done... now your tone will be in your normal phones sound and notification menu also....if you make your own tones make sure they are 30 seconds or shorter... if up loading from your pc save it in /my storage/ my ringtones/ section then copy and paste where i stated above took me a week to figure this out on my own and no tech could help me, not verizon, samsung ,or microsoft, they actually gave me a new phone because they thought my device was defective, twice!! lol, 3 phones in 3 weeks... fools... maybe they should hire people that know a little somthing... verizon sucks! hope this helps, dblaron123 Edited January 25, 2009 by dblaron123
Guest Thousand Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 What you could also do, if you don't want the ringtone to be copied onto My Device (since it takes up so much space there), is to create a folder in My Storage called My Documents and stick the mp3 in that folder. It should show up, then, if you go to Settings --> Sounds & Notifications --> Notifications tab and select the mp3 from the drop-down menu. Works for me, anyway. Hope this helps...
