Hello,

i have a problem- after i listen music or play video the device get much warmer and the battery goes down (discharges) much faster (in 2 hours it is 70% when all the night it was in charge).

What can cause this problem?

Playing videos and music etc will drain the phone faster than just having it on standby and this in turn can cause the battery to get warm.

It is even worse when using WiFi or GPS on devices that have them.

How long are you playing the music/video for?

even if i am playing only 20 minuts music it get warmer. And the battery discharges much faster- i charged it for all the night and after 2 hours (20 minutes of them listening music) the batery indicator shows 70%. I know it doesn't have to be like that because i heard from many people that their battery is working for about 2 days and more and mine only for one day even less. What can cause that? BTW there are no running programs in the background.

are they using the same phone or battery? There are several kinds of batteries , just google it and you'll see batteries with different numbers of mah , the higher the number the longer it lasts. and also , try using a power saving screen mode , and also , the battery works itself in , in the beginning its empty really fast , but after a while it'll last longer.

Hope this helps you

i have the phone for 3 weeks- so is it normal?

I use power saving mode and i even turned off the 3G and the WIFI and BT.

Why there are different kinds of battaries? isn't it has to be similar to all omnia's? but even if there are differend kinds of battaries- it can't be that my battary is enough only for one day or even less.

By the way, i didn't make the battery cycles process (i mean 3 cycles of full discharge and charge) so can it affect on this? if yes, how can i fix it? only replace the battery?

no, it can be the official rom that's installed on it , i had the same problem , but after upgrading the rom it was ALOT better, i can now run about 4 hours of music and battery will still be like 60%.

EDIT: you can try looking here for a new rom (that's what i did) or look on the official site of Samsung for upgrade's or fixes.

OK thanks,

But i already used 2 different ROMS - the DXHJ1 and the DXHK2 (the original was DXHH3 if i am not wrong) and the problem was there too.

My friend told me he listened to music, used the GPS, talked on the phone (LOL) and after 1.5 days the battery is still 80%. So how it can be? I know the normal is that the battery is enough for about 2 days but i don't have this too.

In the version in setting i have:

PDA: i900DXHK2/DZHH3

Phone: i900DXHK2

Is it says i have the DXHK2 ROM?

NEVER try to fully discharge a Li-ion battery as you can damage it.

What do you mean? I've owned an Omnia for months and most of the time my batter eventually becomes zero to the point it shuts off completely. Does that mean I've been damaging my cell? This would have happened atlease 50+ times till now easily.

My battery life NEVER lasts for over half a day/ or max. a full day. Is that bad, can I do anything now?

Fully discharging it doesnt damage the phone for as far as i know, but it can damage the battery itself. That may be the reason your battery is empty so fast. I don't think there is a way to repair a battery, but i'm not 100% sure. I think buying a new one is a good choice in a case like this.
