T-Mo shipped ROM -> DXHK3, what an improvement!

I upgraded my brother's Omnia last night from the T-Mo shipped ROM to the DXHK3 ROM. To say he couldn't believe the improvement was an understatement! He was about to throw the Omnia out the window due to reception problems and all sorts of other issues.

This device does have to be the one in history that has been most improved by ROM updates...

it was rushed into the market to beat iPhone 3G... obvious enough they passed on all the QA and had a very VERY long list of "we'll do it later" to-do list just to shove it in the market and beat SE and Apple... what a strategy...

I still have my Omnia in the repair center (more than two weeks now!!!) because of the disappearing of "My Storage" thing... they promised they are going to replace it with a brand new one, with L2 coming, and a new unit! I think I am going to hold on to it a little longer...

Haha, he lives a long way away, and didn't wanna do it himself. It was his first visit since getting the Omnia... :rolleyes:

this happened to me also and i can tell you that you can fix it in 4 seconds!!!!

you just plug the phone in the pc,you go to my computer you find the device and you just format it!!

then you have my storage back,8 or 16 depends on what you 've got

well, I've tried that, however it doesn't appear in my computer at all! I cannot put it on mass storage anyway! it will tell me that you don't have an external storage! and if I go to hard reset, it will show me "My Storage" as dismounted! the only way to get it back, is by doing a soft reset.

I tried formatting it from the PC, defragmenting it ... its ok, I'm getting a new one... hopefully... :rolleyes:

after you bricked your omnia a while back and when you were talking about getting a touch hd i thought you left the omnia camp, but... something has made you change your mind or...?

do you also have a hd now and if yes, do you like it? because it seems like you're back in the camp being just as excited over a new update as i am! (even though it was your brothers omnia) :)

i also got the omnia t-mobile branded (dutch) and it stank, i can imagine the step to the latest rom is massive. with the new hl2 coming up with new widgets etc. (i don't use them but it is a good thing that samsung still puts effort in this phone) it will even get bigger!

in my eyes omnia still holds it's position high above the hyped iphone.

I have a HD and it's great, I still like the Omnia for a whole bunch of reasons tho (the camera is still a lot better for example). I hope to have my Omnia back soon... HL2 is exciting!

Paul, maybe you can look at the dumped roms from the Epix as they have BT voice dialling working and extract the BT files to test on the Omnia as it seems Samsung arent going to or are unable to fix this.

Please, how did you do it?
