Guest Beanflickr Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Hi everyone. Not had my Omnia for long. Just interested to see how much battery power you get out of yours. List your Firmware, Operator, and what/how much you use the phone. Would be interesting to see how much firmware effects battery life. I have i900XXHH7/BOHH5 OPERATOR T-MOBILE UK MODERATE USE ON INTERNET (2HRS A DAY) THE ODD PLAY WITH GOOGLE MAPS ONE CALL APROX 20MIN NO BLUETOOTH/WIFI USE BATTERY LIFE ONE DAY. I'm a little disappointed with the battery life as my old K850i would run a good 2+days on a charge. I've heard this is due to the firmware.
Guest Bloo_DF Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Battery its a problem on Omnia :/ But its the radio and system mnging that make this problem they will fix this.

It drains pretty quick playing video 4-5 hours. But music i get about 15 hours. I don't talk that much on the phone. But, a few calls a day and some internet browsing I can get 5 days easily. Last weekend I didn't use the phone at all and it battery life was still over 90%. That';s pretty closed to the 500hrs standy they claim. Compared to my old Asus P535 I'm extremely happy with this. Withe similar use I had to charge it everyday. Using DXHJ1 firmware.
Guest jonboyuk Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Bean - the answer is simple, flash your ROM to the most recent version. Fixes the battery problem! I recommend Passoa's M2D04
Guest Beanflickr Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Bean - the answer is simple, flash your ROM to the most recent version. Fixes the battery problem! I recommend Passoa's M2D04 I might do. Just got the phone and don't want to brick it though! South west uk huh? Your not a Plymouth chap are you?... My home town! I'm not very confident flashing. Would T-mobile do this or is it a non official ROM? Also not sure I want to invalidate my warranty. Think I'm going to have to read some more I think. If only I had something I could practice on! And broadband! Not crappy dial up! (yes I know, I'm still in the dark ages!)
Guest chokia Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 K850i is a dumb phone, please compare it with other dumb phones like Nokia's 3310 then K850i will surely loose. You must compare Omnia with other smartphones (P990i, P1i) or Pocket PC (Diamond, TouchPRO), then only it will be fair comparison

(yes I know, I'm still in the dark ages!) :( you might? you should! if i were you i would upgrade to dxhk3, posted by secany in his thread or wait for dxhl2 to be released soon. with heavy use the batt drains in 2 days, with medium use it will easily get to 4 days and if you don't use it and just let it in standby (i had a very sad week last week :) ) it might even get to a full week. quite decent for this well-rounded phone i think.

I really don't get this. I am also on DXHJI and I struggle to get 24 hours with nothing (that I know of!) running! It's tha same with different batteries so I haven't got a dodgy battery! I have tried to use ACDTaskMan to assess what is using the juice but apparently this won't work on the Omnia. So, I have a couple of questions: 1) Does anyone know of any apps that are suspected or known to kill the battery? 2) Does the GPS receiver run constantly and can it be turned off - would it save anything? 3) Are there any other apps that work on the Omnia that can show where the power goes? Thanks.
Guest Unisoldrew Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 Passoa's M2D03 DTHJ9 with XXHJ1 phone. Battery lasts 3-4 days with average use. By far the best ROM/firmware i've had for battery life.
Guest fenmcconnell Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 I have Verizon's i910 version. My battery life is terrible. Verizon is sending me a new battery to try (monday). Today (still with the original battery) I took my phone off the charger at 7:30am. I didn't make any calls on it during the day but I did use it for email, got instant weather updates, and did a little surfing. By 2:30pm it was near dead. I put it on the charger then. Now at 7pm it is only about 80% charged. I have felt that I have it on the charger more than off. I'm going to keep up with this test and see how long it takes to completely charge. Perhaps I have a defective phone rather than battery. My signal strength shows much fewer bars than any other non-omnia that I've compared to. I'll also hope for a Verizon firmware update.
