problem is that to see videos from the browser you need flashlite 3.. and the only way to have it is to flash with custom ROMS with the latest flash lite installed!

even then, quite a few dont work due to codec errors...

< has flashed rom with 3.1 AND 2.1 (For widgets).

My Omnia came with an app called 'streaming media.' Will this do it? I haven't tried yet.

You could try coreplayer as well. Works very nicely.

For YouTube, Google etc you can use WebVideoDownloader or the application YouTubePlay but this is only for YouTube.

The YouTube Player app should hook to any downloaded flv files as well. I have several I have created from my short films and then ru through Sorenson Squeeze or downloaded off Google Video on my PC with the help of "DownloadHelper" on Firefox them moved to my card. You have to tell YouTube Player app to be the default player for flv files for that to work. Once I did that, I can play any flv files now.

I would also recommend skyfire. It can view any flashvideo site (including Hulu) and works really well!

That's your best bet. Integrates nicely with Opera and PIE to play pretty much any stream you can throw at it, and for YouTube it has a decent browser built-in.

Quality and codec for YT streaming is configurable.
