Hi,

To anyone who may want to advise me?

This is my first visit to this forum.

I have just purchased online, an Omnia for my girlfriend and sent it to her. (The phone is from Thailand, so is my girl :rolleyes: )

Although I haven’t seen the phone yet, I will set up her phone when I get home.

I am not afraid of tweaking the phone and I will read the manual first.

I have visited this forum because I have read so many reviews on the phone and it seems a bit daunting about updating the rom and what’s best for the phone etc.

So that I know the best course of action to take when I get home.

1. Is it worth getting the ROM flashed with an update?

2. If so, which version and from where?

3. Is it worth getting the SPB shell? If so where do I get?

It seems like an impressive phone and I can’t wait to get my hands on it in a few days.

Any advice will be appreciated.

1. All of these questions depend on what your girlfriend plans on doing with the phone. Firmware updates from the official site are usally all ways good because they fix little bugs. You can go here http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp Dont go for unofficial roms unless you know what your doing. I dont think you girlfriend would want to see you cry after you brick the phone. :)

2. Depends on your country and what you plan on doing. I personally like DZHJ1.

3. Also dont think so but I think its not worth it. WisBar Advance is way more customizable and would be worth spending the money for.
