Guest DSM101 Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Alright folks. I have a recently purchased Orange Omnia, resident in the UK, and I have seen from various sources that the BBC are now supporting the Omnia for iPlayer. I have tried to access this by going to www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer, but this comes up with an error saying 'ERROR! Remote server or file not found. You tried to access the address http:www.bbc.co.uk/mo... which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page. *Make sure that your Internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working.' This also happens if I try clicking on the link from bbc.co.uk/mobile that says iPlayer. Does anyone know if this is an error from the phone, if I need to be connected to WiFi, if iPlayer is only intermittent on the mobile site, or if the iPlayer site is not yet up and running through the Omnia? Many thanks in advance for your help. Edited December 17, 2008 by DSM101
Guest smoothcrooner Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 I'm having a strange problem on my omnia regarding iplayer. I can watch and listen to Live TV and Live Radio no problem, it's the Catch up service that I'm having problems with. Everytime I try to watch a catch up programme, the volumn does not work, anyone else experiencing this issue?

I'm still on the Orange branded BVHH1. I'm still waiting for Orange to get their fingers out of their a**es and make the new ROM available for download.

IPLAYER NOW WORKS PERFECTLY. after the upgrade, you get a new piece of software called "arcsoft", this replaces the "packetvideo" pvplayer that you get by default with the orange branded omnia, in the ROM version BVHH1... its easy to upgrade... a step by step is listed on this site somewhere and also here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/mobile-phon...dates-here.html theabove link also has a link to a program called "Pocket PC 2000" which allows you to make a small edit to your registry before performing the upgrade. Also make sure you have downloaded and installed the samsung modem driver beforehand.

A big thanks to everyone on this forum for their help in unbranding our useless orange branded omnias.
