Guest Man@Home Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Hi, I have an OMNIA with DXHJ1 on it, its a UK Omnia but I have had to change the configuration to singapore to enable me to initially flash the ROM. Anyway, I use my phone for e-Mail (exchange email as I love push e-Mail) watching DIVX's and listening to MP3's, what I want to do is keep these features and make my interface look as close to the iphone as possible. Is this something that can be done are as I just being a muppet. Cheers Scott p.s do I need to change my firmware to a better one at all? battery is a little rubbish with the one I have.
Guest Mrhoffmann Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) I tried this one to install: click But install failed; it is for a QVGA Edited December 17, 2008 by Mrhoffmann

Go to XDA and look for iFonz that is an exact replica of the iPhone interface
Guest webcrush Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 I used a combo of the Wisbar Advanced Desktop and a theme found at iphoneforppc.com Added in S2u2 and its identical. I actually had a few people with iPhones thinking I had some new version of the iPhone.
Guest mementomori Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 easiest is first install spb mobile shell. then you add sofware from http://www.imarche.net/omnia/index.php. execute the mort script and then run skin script. Both found in the programfolder btw. you need microsoft compact framework 3.5
Guest bobobird Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 You will need to have WisBar Advanced installed and then the one from this place http://www.iphonethemeforppc.com/index.php Both WBA and the theme have to be installed to device memory. Reported to work fine on the omnia.
Guest mobilehappy Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 The "them/skin" mentioned above needs WishBar Advanced Desktop 2 (WAD2) installed. If you already WAD2 , you can also choose to use on of these 2 iphone skins: Iphone Theme by Torx-Development or My Iphone Interface But Ifonz is maybe the easiest way to go about it.....
Guest sabestian Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 "Iphone up"!? I'm sure you meant "Iphone down", didn't you? Just joking, each to their own, enjoy.
Guest MightyMouth Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 (edited) iFonz for the main interface, you can make it start with windows. The QVGA version works fine on WQVGA. I Replaced the icons with my own as the default ones aren't great quality. I'll upload these if anyone is interested. S2U2 for a really good Slide to unlock feature S2P for a Music Player similar to the iPhone S2V for a good Image Viewer Edited December 18, 2008 by MightyMouth
Guest Frankish Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Mighty. Upload your own full version please

Guest Compuse Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 I'm using Winterface, its'pretty much as cool as Iphone's interface; but then on a cool phone!
Guest MightyMouth Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Sorry for the delay, have been busy. Just connect your phone as mass storage and unzip the folders into your iFonz folder. This will overwrite the files that are already there. There is a wallpaper folder which I have added an Omnia Wallpaper and modified the ArmadioP to fit the omnia screen. Just go into settings by clicking and holding on a blank area in iFonz and choose the wallpaper you want.iFonz.zip
Guest emmarbee Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 I've still not owned the Omnia - but I googled a lot to see whether Omnia could bring up the iPhone interface - Yes it can. As mentioned above by MightyMouth S2P for music player S2U2 - for iPhone like unlocking S2V - fpr iPhone like Image viewing (though pinching images for zooming doesn't work, as i9000 is not multitouch) All these above softwares I've seen working on an Omnia in several youtube videos but not in real life. Also they seem to be quiet fast - but expect no further enhancement for Omnia like the usage of D3D (as these softwares are developed by XDA (i guess so) for HTC devices, hence they opt for OpenGL which omnia lacks). I don't think so iFonz gives the Omnia a much better look. I've seen some videos in which the icons appear to be of low-res. But again MightyMouth has a FIx for this. It'll be great if some makes a video out of their device running these apps or just screenshot of iFonz with MightyMouth's upgraded icons.

Guest jeffcalloway Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Mighty - many thanks. You icons are much sharper!
Guest MightyMouth Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 i've tried ur icons but u know it still not smooth enough Well it is limited by the fact that iFonz doesn't seem to support alpha channel so you can only choose between complete transparency and no transparency so you see aliasing in the corners, if you wanted to use a plain single colour background you could make them looks perfectly smooth like on the iphone but if you change to another colour you would see the corners of the icons in the first colour. This is the best it can be unless iFonz changes to support alpha channels. Still looks ok to me so I am happy.
Guest Sylar30 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 I just tried ifonz, got it from the downloads section here and that works a treat  big thanks to the uploader for that.

Guest emmarbee Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 M.A.S thanks for the screens - it looks good. but . . . . . I don't guess its as good as iphone Is it because of the black background the iPhone is looking better? Anyways thanks a lot for the screens and thanks for the icon link
Guest nicoloks Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Excellent! Just doing these few steps have increased the usability a great deal. Does anyone know if using iFonz, or any of the S2 apps will significantly shorten battery life?
Guest sheffield_rob Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Ive downloaded the ifonz but how do I make an icon for file explorer because I cant find the file to link? Cheers
