Omnia dead?

Hey,

I wanted to update my phone yesterday with this site: Samsung Update

I selected the Dutch update and entered my version.

After downloading the update and charging my phone to 100% i was ready to start the update.

The 1st part of the update went fine untill it asked me to Start the phone manually. I tried to start the phone but it didnt went on. After waiting a few minutes and reseting the phone it still didnt went on. Only the red light on the on/off button lights up.

I cant turn on my phone anymore. Anyone can help me out? Or is it dead?

are you using vista to update?

have you install modem driver for windows?

No im using the XP updater

And i have installed the modem driver

This is the second time my Omnia doesnt respond anymore. Could it be the computer im using?

I did the same update twice with no problem.

I have activesync installed.

Didn't install any modem driver.

I just ran the update file on a windows xp machine.

But i turned my antivirus software off.

I use AVG Antivirus but didn't turn it off

This is the second time my Omnia is dead

1st time i used Modaco ROM

2nd time i used official HJ4 ROM from Samsung

Dont understand what i did wrong!

What was your original firmware version?

Mine was

PDA: i900xkhh1/xkhh1

Phone: i900xxhh1

After the update i have

PDA: i900xkhj3/xkhj3

Phone: i900xxhi4

Did you download the correct firmware file?

This is the one i900XKHJ3_updater_xp_1117.EXE

This is the one for unbranded and dutch omnia's.

Problem is that i can not use HSDPA / 3G anymore. Does anybody have the same problem?

In the connection tab there's a HSDPA icon, the function HSDPA is turned on. But still it won't work.

Is there any other setting to turn this on?
