Guest mrcdebenz7 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 you have to download this driver first and when it failed to update go to the device manager and find ports and update one with ! sign near it using this driver: SamsungModem_xp.zip and then update your phone from the beginning I tried reflashing with the device manager open and there was never anything with an ! mark. It starts with reading the Samsung CDMA driver as a windows ce device. When it goes to make the switch it picks up the device again. Then the device goes away and then the error starts.....

All I can think is that some other driver is jumping in when the phone it detected and when it switches. The PC I tried the flash on initially has had a fair bit of software installed and removed. The second PC I tried that worked was relatively clean.

Don't know my next move. Thanks for the suggestions.

Guest Maliasbaggio Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 No luck. Sme as trying a new computer. Dear all, i tried & succeed to do the update as follows: as soon as it turned to Port Create retry (25) Port Create retry (24) Port Create retry (23) Port Create retry (22) Port Create retry (21) Port Create retry (20) Port Create retry (19) Port Create retry (18) Port Create retry (17) Port Create retry (16) Port Create retry (15) Port Create retry (14) Port Create retry (13) Port Create retry (12) Port Create retry (11) Port Create retry (10) windows started to look for a driver for my phone, so i pointed them to my unzip folder of Modem XP extracted files - in fact i pressed the setup myself, so before to reach the "Port Create retry (0)" it found and installed the phone & continued with the update of the phone firmware as well!!! Best regards to everybody!! Thank you all for the fast-light Roms that you create!!!

More than a month ago, I flashed my Omnia with custom ROM and now when i want to upgrade ROM I have always same problem. timeout-- timeout-- timeout-- timeout-- timeout-- PDA Device not found. Can anybody know what this could be? I have Vista Ultimate(if that is any neccessary) and I also installed Samsund modem driver. I also tried several different USB ports and I get same error every time.

I had the same problem and solved it the way you did. but the phone is gone, all I had was !. After awhile, it gives me this " This concludes the beta test of this software release. Thank you very much for your time and effort in helping make this a great product for our customers. To obtain a newer release or further information, please revisit the web site that you used to obtain your current beta release." What should I do? Or is there anything I can do?
