Guest angeleyes Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 please can someone help. i've downloaded the signed version of jabber ce from the american handago site. installed it onto my phone. checked the yahoo messenger box, then it asked whether i wanted to set up account or enter id and password. without really thinking i entered my yahoo id etc and realised a moment later that it really wanted me to set up an account with jabber - oops  now it keeps trying to connect to jabber with the id etc i typed in, and i can't stop it. i try closing the program but it still connects via gprs (which is wasting my money, if they decide to charge me!). i can't find the program (i saved it to storage card) i can't remove the program. i can't do anything with it. does anyone have any ideas thanks ;)
Guest wideawake Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 Angeleyes I am afraid that I bought it and have not Bl**dy used it, I had posted in another thread that I was dissapointed it came with no manual. I think there is a Pocket PC manual on mov's website, it will probably be of some use. Let me know how you get on...
Guest mikey808 Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 angeleyes why not try using the phone's pass through with your cradle and internet connection from a computer, if you are near one, to test it so you don't use up your GPRS. Regarding the login to a jabber server with the wrong login ( ie your yahoo login ).. it doesn't really matter if you create an account with those details, if it lets you. In fact what does happen if you try and login with those details ? If you can login just make another jabber account after you have logged in and out once. As far as removing the program I don't know...Hmmm maybe I'll get it and post my findings..
Guest angeleyes Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 thanks all. all my answers have been answered now movsoftware have emailed back. this is what they put: Hello, Yes there is a manual here: http://www.movsoftware.com/jabberce/Jabber...ers%20Guide.htm You need to enter in the name of the Jabber server you are going to use. See http://www.jabberview.com for a list. jabber.org is a good server. Thank You the best jabber server if you're in the uk seems to be jabber.org.uk - you can use aim, yahoo, jabber and all the others. i'm happy now i can get it working thanks to the manual - great help ;)
