Guest danwanna Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Has anyone figured out how to disable the annoying charging complete notification? I have been laying my phone face down to put it in etiquette mode so it doesn't wake up my wife, but I've missed a couple calls in the morning.

I am not aware of it. you mean it turns the display on? or has a sound as well?
Guest danwanna Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 is there such a notification? I am not aware of it. you mean it turns the display on? or has a sound as well? On the Verizon Omnia, it plays a sound and turns on the screen when charging is complete. I don't mind that it gives me a notification on the screen, but the sound thing is really annoying.

On the i900 it doesn't do that AFAIK.
Guest Chugworth Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I would like to disable this notification also. I usually keep my phone in vibrate mode, but this is still annoying because when I hear it start vibrating on the table and see the screen come on, I think I'm getting a call or text message. I looked through the menus and didn't see a way to disable it. Maybe there's something in the registry?

You could try and find the file it plays and replace with a blank audio file.... or maybe its in the registry
Guest Voltron8Myhat Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 It would be nice to be able to remove the visual notification. When you have your phone plugged into your computer via USB, and the battery becomes completely charged, the left soft key becomes "Notification" and no matter what you do, you can't get rid of it. There is no "dismiss," only "hide." Stupid. In other words, if your left soft key is your link to your contacts and you are plugged in and charged, you no longer have quick access to your contacts. Very annoying. Any way to abolish the "Charging is Complete" notification?

THere may be a way to modify this in the registry - I have not given this a shot yet though. I dumped my registry and this is the only reference to either notify.wav or alarm2.wav. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default] "LedRefCount"=dword:00000000 "Wave"="\\Windows\\Alarm2.wav" "Duration"=dword:00000005 "Options"=dword:0000000d
Guest JustinJT Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 Yes my phone drove me nuts waking me up with "Charging is complete" or something to that effect. I did a search over at samsung-omnia and found the audio file mentioned and replaced it with a silent audio file. The phone still lights up but ...ahhh no stupid voice telling me that my phone was fully charged!
Guest ardvarkofdoom Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 I too hope that this stupid notification can be abolished... It doesn't wake me up, but it wakes up my girlfriend... And as was stated earlier in the thread, the stupid notification button when the phone is charging is annoying as well
Guest inferno234 Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Sorry for the sorta-old topic bump, but I dont think my question garners another topic: Is it possible to "dismiss" the charging is complete notification, so that it at least stops using my left soft key? (I don't care if its still in the task bar, I just want my left soft key back) Thanks in advance.

The sounds don't bother me that much, but I would like my left soft key back too.
Guest DanHakimi Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 I find it appropriate to bump this. It is ridiculous. It wakes me up. Even when I'm awake already, it's a really annoying sound. And the un-dismissable notification is also a bitch. Maybe... Somebody can mess with the charging/battery/something something to make it never fill up to 100%? I'd be willing to deal with 99.9% of my phone's battery power to not have to deal with it. I don't want to go messing with my phone's registry. And I want to get rid of the whole problem, not just the sound.
