Thinking of replacing my trusty S710 with something a bit newer.

Not too keen on touch screens, and would prefer something that looks like a phone and not a Pda.

Needs to have Wifi on.

It it has 3G or HSDPDA - does that mean I can access internet from anywhere inc Google Maps. Or do I need to pay subscription to supplier. I'm on 02 Simplicity.

Any decent recommentations outthere as there are loads to choose from.

Thanks

arguably, its not even the bes, smartest or reliable nokia on the market.... the oled n85 seems worth a look...

otherwise people seem to be saying nice things about the htc 740

I'll 3rd the HTS S740, if you liked the S710 its an ideal upgrade (same form factor etc)

It has all the requirements you mention, and then some, if you use HSDPA you will have to pay your ISP, one you pay for it (either through a monthly fee or pay per use) you should be able to use it for what ever you want (inc google maps etc)

HTH, if you have any questions about the device just ask.

As the others have suggested, the S740 is a fantastic phone.

I moved from an S710 which had served me very well and before ending up with the S740 had tried the Touch Pro and a couple of Blackberries.

The S740 is rock solid stable, a joy to use and is fully loaded.

To this day I still don't get what all the fuss is over some of the other phones as in my view, if you need to take out a stylus each time you want to use something, you are admitting that the GUI is seriously flawed.
