Guest SheepWorrier Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 (edited) Just returned from 2 weeks in Barbados and got hit with a £10 data bill for XTRA GPS Data Download charges every 24 hours - ouch! Hurts more because I never even used GPS over there! Anyone know if there's a way to disable this when roaming? Does the MoDaCo NoData app disable this, btw? Edited December 22, 2008 by SheepWorrier
Guest Yunabeco Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Nodata completely disables GPRS/3G connections, so yeah, it should. As for a way to disable XTRA, disable it in the Enhanced GPS settings. DXHK2 and newer give new options on it, instead of only one: Possibility to download the satmap (XTRA) automatically: -When wifi or ActiveSync is connected -When the data expires (it will try to download through 3G/GPRS if enabled and data expires) And can enable/disable usage of the SNTP server (Enabling it will cause your 3G/GPRS to kick in each time the GPS is initialized).
