Guest X-Ray A4T Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Hi, I've noticed that my screen will intermittently come on for a couple of seconds and then go blank again. It happens if the phone is locked or not. I had the same thing on my i600. It can be distracting particularly when driving. Has anyone else had this and knows the cause? Ray

Ray I noticed that today when I was driving home also. I have ActiveSync set up to connect to my Exchange Server every 30 minutes. I think that is why mine turned on. Do you have something set up to access the network?
Guest X-Ray A4T Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I suspect something like that. I'll need to check but I know I'm not syncing email.
Guest melvynadam Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Out of interest, are either of you running Spb's Mobile Shell? I noticed this a lot after I installed it on my HTC Wizard. TBH, I kept it anyway because the app is so good it was worth it it is annoying nonetheless.

Well, SPB Mobile Shell is set up to check for weather updates (I think every 2 hours) so it could be that also. I think it is whenever it connects to the network the screen will turn on. Jeff

Jeff I'm deliberately not running SpbMS on my new Omnia to test whether that's been the cause of some of my issues with my previous devices. My Omnia syncs with an Exchange Server and I haven't seen the screen randomly turning on even once. Try removing MS and see if it goes away.
