Does Omnia support 32gb microSD?

Does anyone know what the maximum capacity of MicroSD card omnia can take? Soon the 32gb MicroSDs will be out and I am not sure if the omnia can use that much. I searched the net and I found websites saying that 16gb is max and others that 32gb is the max. Anyone knows the true maximum capacity of memory card that omnia supports?

No help at all here as I'm waiting for mine to arrive. (omnia). Forgot about this place from when I had my eeepc and found it again now with its omnia section.

But on my travel on the net, being the excited child you turn into when expenting new toys I found a few places mentioning 128gb cards in the near future and the omnia having no "limit" as such as its sdhc ?

Just thought I'd chuck that in there. Be nice to know a clear cut answer.

Your not the only one waiting  2 more days for me before my baby comes :) Right now all I do behind the PC is read and read about Omnia, windows mobile, ROMs and everything I need to know.

128gb would be so sweet! But I guess we will have to wait for a real pro to clear it up for once and all.

Ok i just have to ask....

Why do you need that much space? I have 12gb and i don't know what to do with it.

by now, only 16gb micro-sdhc is supported because 32gb micro-sdhc has not been released yet.

Music will take all 8gb of my internal storage. 2 seasons of my favourite series will take 6gb of the memory card storage and I still need movies, and I like my movies to be in HQ so they eat quite a lot of space. :)

movies can eat a lot of memory.

just for the purpose of testing, i uploaded a 1.5gb blue-ray ripped movie (the duchess) into 'my storage':

720x304 pixels, 25fps, 1522kbps xvid video; 48000khz, 448kbps, 6ch, ac3 audio

my old standalone dvd player doesn't play such high video bitrate, but omnia played it flawlessly using tcpmp... amazing! and addicting!!!

it's a shame there's still no player for omnia that will allow me to watch my .srt subtitled movies in landscape with TV Out...

as long as the companies that support sdhc don't start acting like sony does with its memory stick, it will accept even 512tb micro-sdhc.

Thats true but there might be a hardware limit that allows only cards up to certain capacity to be used

tcpmp subtitle plugin support SRT exists already.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcpmpsubssubtit/

1. This plugin supports the following subtitle formats:

- SAMI (*.smi)

- ASS/SSA (*.ass,*.ssa)

- SubRip (*.srt)

- MicroDVD Subtitle (*.sub)

Note: not all *.sub files are in MicroDVD format.

2. The following video drivers can be used:

- GAPI

- GDI (recommended)

- Intel 2700

- ATI 3200

3. The following video drivers are not supported:

- Raw Frame Buffer

- Direct Draw

- Intel XScale

The first hardware limit is at 4Gigs (because that's 32 bit), but omnia can get past it, so I hope it won't be a problem. (not that I'll have the money to buy a 32gb sdhc  )

Movies do eat up a lot of storage... Between my music, the pictures and videos I've taken with the Omnia and the movies I have on there for the kiddos to watch I'm just about out of space with my old 6gb card from my Tilt and the 12gb of internal storage  A 32gb card sure would be nice! :)

Dont worry the prices of memory cards drop dramatically. Remember how expensive was a 16gb card a couple of months ago, now you can get them for 45 euros. The key is to never buy a new maximum capacity card when it comes out. They are so overpriced when released. Just wait a few weeks and it will become 3 times cheaper.

@Michael Pang:

thanks, but i already have it. unfortunately it does not work properly when used with TV OUT in LANDSCAPE mode, which is necessary to display the movie properly on TV.

no matter how you set tcpmp up, screen shows one way, subs shows the other way (horizontal/vertical).

dont waste your money on memory cards. The future is being able to stream everything, movies, tv shows, etc you name it. You can already do this to a certain degree(hulu, sling, etc).

are you sure you have the correct version is installed?

also, can you try to use the phone in portrait mode first. when playing video, just select to play it full screen. personally, i find this is the solution and end up, i have disabled the accelermotor.

Please note that the bigger the card, the slower it gets

sandisc 8gb is currently class 6

sandisc 16gb is currently class 2

i do not know about you guys but i only use things which are fast

16gb of slow storage is a no go in the omnia

Question for anyone, why would you purchase an 8gb model when you could have chosen a 16gb model? Also for the guy trying to do TV out make sure your settings for that program are set to intel xscale i think. lufeig what subtitle program did you use? I used the one for the plugin for tcpmp and it does not work for me. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but this phone wow is it amazing the things it can do, the unlimited possibilities for this phone are the coolest..... Also most of you here are you from the US or overseas? Is your version of the phone unlocked?

Sadly, not everyone have this option  .

Where i live (Brazil) only 8GB models are commercialized (does this word exists? oO), so if you want massive storage capacity you MUST get a card, unless you import a 16GB model and pay about half the price again in import taxes.

When I bought mine only 8gb version was availible. But i am not worried about it when i can add 32gb of storage to it.

So, guys! After all does Omnia i900 accept 32Gb card or no? I'm having a problem using it. (SanDisk 32Gb DSHC) First of all software SentryCE 2020 won't work with this card. Simply it doesn't create encripted folder for data. But it did when I've used 8Gb card. Error message says: "Cannot initilase system folder. Check storage card" And second problem is, when I'm dropping the files, (MP3, pictures, movies etc.) on the card (using USB connection or ActiveSync) files are missing. Can't see them with File Explorer, but I can play music or even watch movie accessing files with PC. So, looks like files are on the card, but phone doesn't see them. Any idea what's going on? :)

Thanks!
