Guest Emre SUMENGEN Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Hi everyone, As some of you would know, we can toggle WiFi on/off with AKWifiToggle (an app that just requires you to run it, to toggle wifi. No hassles, no menus etc) Wandering through the registry I've bumped into HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\MotionSensor where a key named "AutoOrientation" controlled the automatic orientation sensor. (Setting it's value to 1 enables and 0 disables it) So, I asked if it would be possible for an app to toggle that value in the registry when run, as I didn't have that programming skill. jobejufranz from samsung-omnia.org did that and it works very nice. The original app and the thread is here. Happy toggling  (I hope it's not a problem to post an outer link, to another forum. But I had to give credit to the creator, you know...)
Guest herojas Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 If you flash your Omnia with the last I900DXHL1 rom version you can see there a new program, favorite settings, that allow you enable or disable a lot of functions. Includes the motion sensor.
Guest 3shirts Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I use mort scripts for this. If you make a script and pop a shortcut to it in the programs menu, you can assign it to a hardware button as well.
Guest AZFARASH Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Guys there is already the option in settings - button where you can assign any button (i assigned Camera button) to change orientation. You can find the option in the top of the list. Now I say HAPPY TOGGLING!!!
Guest melvynadam Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I'd like something similar to toggle the on-screen mouse. Generally I think it's a great tool and want it always on but when I'm using MobiPocket I need to turn it off because otherwise the "action button" isn't registered by the app. Any ideas?

This app can be usefull for ones (like me) not to dedicate a physical button (which are not many in numbers) to screen rotation. I've put a shortcut to it on Manila Apps page and can easily turn on/off automatic rotation (like when I'm gonna put a show to friends etc )

That's what I tried to avoid  I don't like a mess of apps installed. (Haven't even tried to install mortscript yet, do you think it's really usefull?)

I've been waiting for HL2 to be released, but this can also be a driver

If you know how to use mortsripts they are VERY useful. You can create a mortsript to do alot of things. Look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289197
