lately my omnia is starting to behave weird when it comes to charging with my adapter

these are the things i have experienced sofar

charging with the adapter

sometimes when i put in the plug i hear the connecting sound but the red power stays off, display displays that it is not charging

sometimes when i put in the plug i hear the connecting sound but the red power stays off, display however states it is charging

sometimes when i put in the plug i hear the connecting sound but the green power comes on while the battery is at 50%

resetting the omnia will not allways help

resetting the omnia while the powerplug is connected will help most of the times

i then notice that the light goes from red to green to red to blue etc

does anybody else have had these strange things?

what does the blue powerlight mean?

looks like the software charger is al screwed up and needs to be reset.

i started having these issues after i am using igo8 so maybee that is doing something to the hardware/software

also using spb mobile shell so maybee it is a combination.

interesting

looks like it has something to do with bluetooth

i also noticed that when om the charger the light is red

when you switch bluetooth off the light goes out and then switches to red again

looks like bluetooth can interfere with charging functions.

thanks

Red means it IS charging.

Green means it is fully charged.

I've seen the blue during startup before but it is not normally on for me at any other time when bluetooth is turned on.

I got an orange light. I upgrades from an i600 to the i900 and noticed that the i600 standard battery was the same width and thickness but slightly shorter and I could use it as a backup battery by wedging it with a bit of paper. I could also use the i600 external charger box to charge the i900 battery if I put an elastic band to hold the lid on due to its extra length. The other day I was driving home with GPS on and got a low battery warning. I noticed the i600 battery was not charging. When I plugged in the wall charger I noticed the power LED was orange. I put the battery into the external charger and its charge LED also orange. I turned it off for a few minutes and it started charging with the red LED as normal.

yes! mine is the same way. i need to plug it in over and over until it starts charging and the light never goes green even when it gets to 100%.

I used to have this problem with and old HTC TyTN and replacing the battery fixed it. I think it is because its a "smart" battery that give indication to the power management on how much it is charged. I guess my battery can be in "dumb and dumber" . Anyway, if you replace the battery and it fixes it please post, i bought it through ebay so i think i will have to buy a new battery.

When I bought my I-900, it did not charge at all so I bought an external cradle to charge it. Then I tried 2 different car chargers and nothing. I flashed my Omnia with Taril's rom and now it charges on all but only if the phone is on? I get red and white lights. Sometimes the screen says it's charging and sometimes it does. I think that it's all software. If anyone knows how to fix it to charge when the phone is of that would be great. Thanks

Seems like you purchased a defective unit. You should have taken it back and gotten one that charged properly in the first place.

I have similar experience like Gravityz's.

I am using the 3 way adapter (S20 pin multi-adapter, AAET554CBE) to charge my Omnia and watch movies (with TV out) at the same time.

When I charge using AC, initially the LED is red, and seems to be charging (very slowly) with TV out. After about 45 minutes, the LED turn white, and it's not charging anymore (charging icon no longer appear at screen either), even the battery shows only at 50%. From then, even I unplug the adapter and do a direct charge with the AC, the LED light remain white, and not charging. However if switch to USB, the LED turn red, and it's charging again. The direct AC charge is re-enable only after I leave the phone for a while (like maybe 1/2 hour).

When I charge using USB (from my computer) with TV out, the red LED is on, and charging seems to be not problem. However, the the battery % doesn't increase. The positive side is, the battery % doesn't decrease either. Seems like the charging and usage of the battery is equivalent. I can TV out without worry about the bettery running out, but the battery just just doesn't increase the charge.

I am using HJ1 ROM.

Does anyone having this problem? Anyone with later version of ROM have better experience than myself? (I am thinking of updating the ROM)

elmolivez, do you mind sharing with us, which is the ROM you used before (when you have the same problem) and which is the ROM you are using currently?

Thank you.

I have updated the ROM to the latest version (IA5). It still has the same problem.
