Omnia dead , but...

Hello!

First sorry about my english.

I've got problem . I wanted to update my phone yesterday with one polish rom.(i900SAHJ3_i900)

I install all samsung drviers and ActiveSync. The updater was start ok. Without problems.

And Ive got error after ¨Switch USB to Phone Success¨. Than samsung was stoped. I switch off.

Now as result the phone go black screen, but the red led of power work good. Charging working.After charging the led is green. So somthing working on this omnia. Problem is that windows xp not recognize the phone. Nothing hapen after connecting omnia with usb to pc.

And now question.

My omnia is completely dead?? Is some solution ?? ( red led, full charging green)

Try to flash again.

First uninstall the samsung modem driver and activesync

Reboot

Reinstall activesync

Reboot

Install samsung driver (get the one from http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...tect-usb-phone/ at post #8).

Reboot

Reflash.

Also there are hundreds of threads and discussions here about these problems and trying to find an answer is not all that difficult.

Yes i take 2nd one. I do everthing but sill not work. Updater did't show START. And windows xp not recognize a phone.

This phone is full of s***.. Why eveything is sa difficult.

connect phone

switch off phone

restart phone

or use the pinhole next to power button to reset phone.

your phone does not appear dead

also try with another rom from the rom section., hk3 is stable.

Or better take omnie to service? ( but problem with service is that i dont have shoping ticket, because i buy form secundhand)

And one more question.

Because my omniai900 is spanish. So is nesesery flashing with spanish roms or is the same ? Because is problem that i dont know what rom i had before, first one. Yes I know , i'm stupid but when i was flashing my omnie I was using some stupid tutorial. hmm

I am not sure what is going on with your flashing, if you can flash then it does not sound like it is dead.

Perhaps your best option is to take it to a service centre.

Yes.....i try all .... still nothing. In this week I try go to samsung service. If they say that I need ticket or something I wait untill somebody have solution for that.

Hi the same thing happened to me yesterday i have a samsung omnia that is on vodafone i flashed it with Tarils custom firmware and then got the phone to usb message i then soft reseted the phone switched it on and the phone came on with a warning sign i then reinstalled the firmware and it installed successfully.

try Changing the USB port you are using and also reinstall the samsung modem driver

try this firmware it worked for me!

Thanks for reply.... but still nothing. Problem is that windows not recognize phone. I try WinControl,nothing. I think that is dead. But is stupid becouse led is function. Maybe sdram is dead. Bootloader is dead. I dont know...

hi im sorry to hear that but when i did it i pressed the soft reset and then connected it to the pc and it recgnised it when i was going to update it.

Are you using Grand Pix to update or is it the .exe files that u used? I'm thinkin maybe trying the other might provide a positive result....hope u get your phone problem sorted out soon

Are you using windows Vista or XP? Try doing everything on XP. My Vista didn't work for me either.

I try everthing, xp ,vista. I did fresh windows installtion because i was think that is sam usb modem problem. But still nothing. Maybe because i have usb 1.0 not 2.0. But i think that is the same. Maybe cable is crashed. I try on grandprix and nothing . I have "write SDRAM(sdrom) filed" . So maybe sdrom is dead.

Someone sad that if i doing update , rom version should be the same. This is true ?? But what version ? windows mobile ? pda rom , phone rom.

Not true

Suggest you use only those that are .EXE and only those that start with DX in name.

When u get it fixed (and have more experience) you can play with the other methods.

Ok good to know. But really I do not know why I need to changeing all the time roms. After all phone wont conect with pc.

Can someone explain to me what is a common type of roms to connection with pc.

I forgot say that Switch on is function but to swich off the phone i need remove baterry. s*** sorry...

Rom with DX not function.

One question...... updater *.exe inside is pda and phone software ??

I think that i need find solution for usb connection. Because if pc not detect the phone ...so is something wrong, or i can´t do nothing else.

The Omnia is not correct name....corect name is ¨ -Omnia easy phone to crash- ¨ .Why they sell phones which you can destroy in 1 secound.
