HTC S710 activesync via USB not working

Hi

I have had a search through the forums and didn't seem to find what I was looking for.

Here is my problem:

I have trouble getting my phone connected with activesync when I connect it via the USB cable, when I plug the cable in it starts to charge the phone but nothing else happens.

It used to work.

I have tried on a Vistas as well with the same issue.

I have tried BT and gets connected to activesync.

I have tried the solution to remove the tick under settings, connections and USB2PC.

I have tried 2 or more cables.

I have tried hard resetting the phone.

I have tried removing the USB devices on my PC.

Any other suggestions?

Help much apreciated.

wild thing to check here, some HTC phones can appear as Mass Storage Devices, not sure if the s710 has this ability or not (?) but check it hasn't got itself set to go into that mode when connected to a PC rather than ActiveSync. You can check by seeing if it appears as a drive on your PC when connecting.

Also, when connecting does your PC make the little chime that indicates a USB device has been connected? If not it may be an issue with your USB controller?
