Guest dbsimms63 Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 I set up my Voice command to alert me to incoming messages, phone calls, and emails through my BT headset, Blueant Z9i, but all I get is a beep on incoming calls. The announcement is made through the speaker. I had the settings in VC to alert only through BT at any time, but it wont work. I installed BT audio and I can hear my Sirius play through the headset and I can hear clicks when I tap on menu items, but no alerts..any help?
Guest efjay Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Routing voice commands to a BT headset doesnt work on the Omnia, no idea why and apparently it works on newer devices like the Saga.
Guest dbsimms63 Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 That sucks. Even my old HTC Dash could do it.
Guest dbsimms63 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Funny thing, the other day it gave me a voice alert on an incoming call, but i couldn't switch over to answer it
Guest dbsimms63 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 I recently switched to the Jawbone II, thinking it might work better. Funny thing, I paired the JB to my laptop, and one day I started hearing things from my Omnia over the speakers on my laptop, incoming caller ID, messages, and e-mails. I always have Voice command and BT audio turned on on my phone. I wonder how the Omnia can send BT files to the computer via BT, but can't seem to send incoming caller ID to the JB. It will send everything else to the JB. I can hear alerts, e-mails, texts, just not the name of the person calling me, unless I have the BT on my laptop on at the same time and the JB on, then I can hear the incoming caller ID and ringtones through my headset and not over the laptop speakers. I think my Omnia is haunted.
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 The BT problem with Omnia is a known issue from the get-go. I'm sure that Samsung knows about it, however, they've never attempted to fix it themselves. There is a custom ROM by Khuanchi that solves this problem. A few geniuses on this forum have taken it upon themselves to port the necessary audio files from an older Samsung, to the Omnia and it works.
