Guest Risco Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Dunno about you guys, but I think the widgets are utterly useless. I bought the phone for internet and it certainly delivers, to a point. The opera browser still feels very beta understandably. It is forever zooming when I do not want to, or having issues loading complicated pages such as skysports etc. Just for reference I have done the cache 4 tweak about 10 mins ago  However what I would really like is for flash 3 for youtube support. I did notice skyfire, but it is incredibly clunky to use and just nowhere near the potential of opera mobile. Besides it cheats and takes pictures of sites and sends to your phone.. So I bought this phone a week ago brand new and not in a contract. Do I need to ditch it for an xperia so i can get flash? Or will samsung see the light and either update the widgets or tell us it aint never gonna happen?
Guest mobilehappy Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 (edited) Here you can find a selection of ROM versions that support Flashlite 3.1 . ie. you can view Flash content directly in Opera. Don't bank on Samsung adding it for Omnia due to the Adobe license fees. They might add it to the 2009 Omnia replacement phone though. Edited December 31, 2008 by mobilehappy

My insurance from my bank does not kick in for 3 weeks. Until it does I wont be trying custom roms. I had to jump through many hoops ( install vmware, run xp inside vista, flash to singapore firmware, edit phone registry, hex edit the uk firmware and then finally i got it with official and non branded lol ) I dont want to risk any more for now. So I take it is a licence fee issue then? If so my contract is up in April, so I will get whatever they give me then.
Guest somedude Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 IE 6 mobile comes with flash support. Im sure someone will extract it from a rom soon and have a .cab file ready for us.
