Omnia-Compatible user interfaces (UIs) and inputs

I've been formatting, reformatting, upgrading, downgrading and playing around with my Omnia for the past few days, and have settled on the hassle-free (but also Bubblebreaker-free) DXHL2/LFI04 ROM by lufeig (available here), and have yet to find a UI that fits me completely.

So, just for the sake of popularity, what are you using? Used to have SPB Mobile Shell with the imarche.net skins but MortScript likes to randomly claim CPU cycles. TouchPal, for me, is a go, coupled with Touch Response (vibration feedback on touchscreen).

M2D for me. I have used WAD2, SPB Shell and the best for me till now is M2D. Smooth almost bug free, fast + nice interface.

Im waiting for PointUI2, i will check how to port it to Omnia and TouchXperience.

Also Samsung keyboard is the best for me as the others used, Resco, MS, TouchPal, PocketCM Keyboard, Vito, have some bugs and there are slow.

I use SPB Pocket Plus for my UI. Works well, extremely customizable, and allows infinite plugins.

And the Samsung keyboard works fine for me even with my big thumbs. The WQVGA helps in landscape and the haptic feedback helps as well.

I'm using Ultimate launch as UI. Super fast and and you can put any today (or multiple) items on multiple screens. You can make it really finger friendly. Has a cube like setup with infinite screens. You can define your own actions for your finger slides (up/down/left/right). I've set it up so I can get to any program or setup within a few slides or pushes on the screen.

At the moment I'm playing around with the widgets of the HL2 rom, but when I'm back to normal setup I'll try to upload some screenshots.

Now if only you could add some of the samsung widgets (weather for example) on there as well.

I personally think that Wisbar is the best UI. It has the best and easiet customization and it can do soo much. Ive tried HomeScreen and Manilla but both lacked the customization that Wisbar offers

I use and voted for the Samsung Keyboard, and I voted Winterface because that's all I had used up until a few hours ago. But recently I found out that Manila 2D works on Verizon's i910, and so I installed it. I have to say that it's my favorite by far. I don't need TOO much customization, just as long as it works smoothly and looks nice. Manila does both.

Good day and Happy New Year to all!

For me I use SPB mobile shell, along with PCM keyboard. Nothing beats PCM keybaord, for me at least

HTC Phonepad is really good too, but for some reason my saved words disappear on every soft reset

hi guys,

which ui do you think is the most memory efficient and fastest without sacrificing too much funtionality and good looks

i use spb mobile shell with imarches skins but with mortscript disabled.

im looking for a better alternative to spb mobile which , it seems uses a lot of resources and seems to reduce my battery life.

any suggestions?

cheers

I think HomeScreen PlusPlus has great battery life but it isnt as "flashy" as the others. If you know XML then you can create a theme but other then that it may be a bit boring.

Hey Guys, WOW first post! I've been reading this forum since September I think, but just trying to absorb knowledge (:

At the moment I'm really enjoying Ultimate launch, it's so easy to customise and is not a whole new screen over the today screen. the only issue i'm having at the moment is to try and get a calendar on the home tab.

Winterface is smooth and quick but seems to lack backgrounds/colour and showing information right in front of you.

Spb Mobile looks great but it's SO hard to add the things i want, like a communications page and removing tabs.

WAD i just couldn't get to grips with the likes of resizing and seemed a bit widgety. Maybe i'll take a look at it again in the future.

Manila was great but took up so much space and way too many tabs for my liking.

Currently using SPB Mobile Shell with Imarche skins (and now able to use own backgrounds it's got even better)

Using standard Samsung Keyboards

Tried quite a few UI's but always go back to SPB
