Guest bobobird Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 (edited) These work on the Omnia without need for port splitters iGo 8.0.0 and 8.3.x Garmin Route 66 Navigon These work with use of port splitters MapKing TomTom Best in my opinion - iGo 8.3.x series if you are in Europe and North America iGo 8.0.x series in most places 2nd best = Garmin One other point - the inbuilt gps unit is a major battery sucker. What I have done is for long trips the software connects using bluetooth to an external gps unit (a single charge on these lasts hours and can also be charged using a car charger). For shorter in-city use, I defer to the inbuilt one. Happy New Year Edited December 31, 2008 by bobobird
Guest bobobird Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 What's the exact version of iGo8? J. He is probably using either 8.3.2.64873 or 8.3.2.64029. The maps between the 2 are interchangeable but 8.0.x maps are not and vice versa.

Guest tibor28 Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 What's the exact version of iGo8? J. I am using 8.3.2.64029 and it works flawlessly. But it required some tunning to get it running since 8.3 didnt have the correct resolution packs for omnia so I had to extract them from 8.0. Dont know if its a general case though since many people are using 8.3 without any problems.
Guest somedude Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Get Garmin XT 5.00.20w from Garmin site. Thanks, that worked.
Guest barakaspeed Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 Has anyone had success with TOMTOM 6? I know it's older, but it's the only copy I have left over from my Treo 700p. Thanks!
Guest sqjam Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) I'm using Garmin with Adria Route map witch is the best map for area where i live - Slovenia, Europe. I know that Adria Route only works on Garmin (hardvare) devices but i don't know if that is the same with mobile phones. P.S.: I don't really use GPS on mobile phones because it sux compared to dedicated devices. It's good for emergency situations / if i'm not in the car Edited January 2, 2009 by sqjam

Should work perfectly when GPSGate is translating the internal gps's data to a virtual comport, one that TomTom handles in Nmea mode(virtual comport sellected)
