Hello Everybody

I'm new to the forum and that's my first post.....

Maybe a few questions are a bit stupid or not posted in the right place... but if someone can help it's very appreciated!

My handheld Details

Omnia I900 White Vodaphone

PDA Version: i900XXHG5/MSHG1

Phone: i900XXHG5

Here they go:

1. Big issue with time

- Seems like the phone loses the right time after switched off or after ActiveSync

2. Can't do any Windows Update (using it on wifi on my home network)

- Connection to update server was not available

3. Can't update contact information

- I just can't see how to add information to a contact... I.E when you receive a call from an unknown caller and you want to put this number to a specific contact "not creating a new one"

All the rest looks pretty fine and i hope i will not be dissapointed with the phone

Tks in advance

Bruno

Good luck. Verizon is notorious for never updating their phones. It might discourage you from getting a shiny new phone and all.

Gee...Thanks. So does this mean that I will not be able to use anything from all the i900 posts that float around here? The i900 just got a new update but I saw that the i900 and i910 updates are not compatible (from the disclaimer on this board). I hope what you are saying is not true...please.

1. Check in clock settingss your in correct time location e.g GMT for UK GMT +4 or whatever for USA. clock maybe resetting its self using the internet based upon ttthis location setting.

2. windows update is pretty useless IMHO. the wifi I found is a little buggy on the omnia. could try a ROM updaate from Samsung.

3. need to go to contact , EDIT, and eneter manually . what I do sometimes is go to Call history click & hold on the number in the context menu save to contacts this will bring a new contact up . copy the number to clipbord. cancel the new contact. then find the contact you want to add it toand paste from clipboard. - a bit longwinded.

(MAYBE SOMEONE could write a script for this.)

Hope i have understood write and this helps.

1. I checked it is properly setup on GMT, and the date also gets wrong. I was checking it between today and yesterday and seems like it's just when the phone is switched off...

2. If it doesn't have nothing useful i will not bother =)

3. I was thinking someone realised a proper way to do it but seems like there's just the "manual mode"

Tks for the advice
