Samsung Keypad Functionality Gone

So I have been very happy with my Omnia since I got it last month. I have an i910 with SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 and iMarche on it. I have also done a few registry hacks as well since I am comfortable with that kind of thing. But this new dilemma has me stumped.

Everything on the phone works great, but about a week ago the keyboard stopped typing in Opera and the wouldn't type in any other programs until a soft reset. All other inputs worked great, especially the character recognizer. This didn't happen 100% of the time though, so I wasn't concerned.

The problem is that I cannot switch to xt9 anymore. It has disappeared. I switch between keyboard and keypad and my only options are the whole keyboard and symbols, or the keypad with just numbers. There is no blackberry style functionality anymore and I definitely can't turn on xt9 in the keyboard.

The only other snafu that happened around the same time was that a second My Storage folder was created killing all my shortcuts until I deleted it and restored MyStorage2 to the default.

Any ideas??? I would prefer not to hard reset, but I can if I have to.

Sounds like virus behaviour to me. Hard reset is the best way, just make sure you backup your contacts, pictures etc beforehand.
