Guest bluehaz Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 Any background I choose for my BlackJack 2 is blurry and distorted. I've tried all kinds of resolutions, 320x240, 640x480, and odd ones too with no effect. I'm using the standard Sliding Media theme if that has anything to do with it. I'm pretty sure it does it with all themes. Any ideas? Thanks
Guest Nottach Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 If youre talking about the "skin" for the sliding panels theme then it has nothing to do with your background. It's part of that theme, if you switch to windows simple theme is it still blurry? You can look into creating your own skin by editing the file bronzeres.dll in the \Windows directory, more info by searching at xda-developers. Or you can go to google and search for "tx caesar", they've got a utility that allows you to change between different sliding panels "skins", though it's limited.
Guest bluehaz Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 I'm talking about backgrounds, not skins, I wasn't sure if skins affect the appearance of backgrounds.
Guest oplix Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) you have to manually edit the .home.xml files inside your application data\home folder. 1. Copy the background you want to use into the application data\home folder 2. copy whichever theme you want to use the background with to your desktop. 3. open the home.xml file with notepad 4. use ctrl+f to find "background" ( background bgimage="SlidingPanel_bkg_240x320.jpg" bgimage-rotated="AT&T.jpg" valign="top" bgcolor="COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT"/ ) is an example. 5. change to background bgimage="WHATEVER YOUR FILE IS CALLED" 6. save the file as a different name. For example, instead of ATT Sliding Panel change to ATT Sliding Panel Beach (Beach would be the background image) 7. Sync the new home.xml file back to the application data\home folder. This is the only known way to get rid of background distortion. enjoy. Edited January 9, 2009 by oplix
