Guest webcrush Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Ok, it took me a month to figure it out, but from what I can tell, you can't run Verizon's Visual Voicemail application while connected to a Wifi access point. I'm not sure why, maybe its a firewall port setting (I can't find any info on this), but it may be as simple as that its only accessible through Verizon's data network. Either way, when I'm connected to a Wifi access point, no VVM. So, does anyone know a way or a trick to force the VVM app to use the EVDO data network, rather than Wifi? Seems like a pain in the ass to have to turn wifi off just to check voice mail, and then turn it back on. Also related, I notice that the application tries to fire up anytime the phone believes there is a new VM to be heard. This is a pain in the ass, especially since it can't connect 90% of the time since I'm using wifi. So--have I missed a big glaring post somewhere about this because I haven't seen anything out there. Thanks
Guest absolutly Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Does this cost extra on Verizon? I wanted to try it out until it asked me if I want to subscribe. Then I got scared as to what that means..

Guest jhickey Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 $2.99 a month, actually. Extremely affordable if you're going to use it, but unless you get a lot of voicemail, it's a waste.
