Hi All

I have just installed SPB Backup onto my Omnia , done a backup and have left "\POCKETFS.SYS" out of the backup as i here this comes up as an error if not excluded ...does not seem to cause a prob by what i have read if excluded or not .

Well what i want to know is if i update my ROM to the newest one can i restore all my programs etc onto my phone and still keep the new ROM ?( does not overwrite anything from old rom )

I have not tried it yet ....rather find out info first on how to use SPB backup .

Any help most appreciated

Karl

If SPB Backup claims it can do so, then it probably can. I know Sprite Backup does, and works well with that (at least on my phone). Apps, contacts, and stuff like activesync and bluetooth config (registry) get transferred with no problems, and my new rom is still fully there.

POCKETFS.SYS is a system file that takes care of the filesystems, and since it's always locked by the OS it can't be opened; it doesn't contain any configuration whatsoever, and can be excluded without worries.

Rights , best thing for me to do then is see if SPB does exactly the same as sprite , if not i have sprite backup ...i decided to use SPB as i heard it had won top award for backup software .

Many Thanks
