ROM update

My omnia has ROM PDA i900DXHH3/DZHH3 and phone i900DXHH3. i think that my phone is from singapore as the operator was on singtel. i dont know which rom to download and upgrde the omnia. can anyone guide me to which one should i choose and which firmware is the latest and if there are any advantages from upgrading from the firmware i have to the latest one?

Upgrading firmware is in my experience most of the time the best thing to do. the latest official samsung firmware is DXHK3. However, here on Modaco, you can find leaked version who are newer than DXHK3. Using on of those might void your warranty, so unless you don't know how to do stuff, stick to the official samsung ones.

DXHK3 is in my eyes better due to longer battery life, speed and responsiveness of the omnia.

When you flash the rom does the "My Storage" (8 or 16gb) region get formatted as well, or is that data retained and just the O/S upgraded?

I'm not sure but I think all your data will go away. Make a back up first.

The "my storage" and "storage card" is not affected.

Which is the best way to? I have the original version DXHH3 and wants to update it.

Dowload the file from Samsung? BOught the Omnia from X1387 UNBRANDED 16gb.
