How do i use GPS in "flight mode"?

Hi;

I have recently installed destinator 7 on my omnia and have installed the skins i found here so have a really nice satnav solution (IMO). The only problem I am having is that if i put the phone into "Flight mode" (ie no Radio enabled) then Destinator cannot see the GPS in my omnia. As soon as i switch from flight mode back to normal then the gps pops straight back in. Is there a way i can use the GPS in flight mode? Or is it part of the Radio hardware in the phone and Im asking the impossible?

The GPS is part of the "Phone" driver, if I'm not mistaken. So if the Phone itself is disabled, the GPS goes down too.

A possibility is to turn the Phone back on but not to type your PIN code (Tap Cancel when it asks for it). Unfortunately, if you don't have one, the phone will start up anyway.

Yup, you need the phone to be able to use GPS.

I wanted to try GPS while I was in the plane, but couldn't :rolleyes:

It wasnt so much in plane GPS i was after, but more GPS without the phone on. Thanks for the replies though guys.
