Guest dwallersv Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Shot in the dark -- I had the same problem on my Treo 750. Turned out to be that I had set up CorePlayer to handle midi files (.mid), and it doesn't know how to integrate with the rest of the phone to be a playback service, so when any midi tone (which was most of them) tried to play for a notification or ring, all I got was a lame simple tone generator. Turning off CorePlayer support for midi files fixed it. If you've loaded another third party media player, check and make sure it's not set up to handle midi files.
Guest Cyrusir Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 answer is that the files need to be .wav type :)
