My HP PDA has finaly given up the ghost after 6 years of faithfull service

haveing the handwriting style of that only matched by a Rabid Monkey finding a replacement is my only option however a smartphone i feel is my next step

i have looked at the

Hp 614c

the Palm Treo 500

and the HTC Touch

my needs are simple a phone with windows media and a decent calendar/diary (love pocket informant for this) and the device needs to have touch screen capability

i was wondering if other members could give me a view on the units i have shortlisted

also in relation to the Hp 614 and the headset can this be used for making calls with or do i have to use a stupid captain Scarlett type Blue tooth headset?

any comments recomendations would be appriciated

Are you looking at a specific network provider or are you buying SIM free?

Also what sort of budget are you looking at? as this may well be a deciding factor.

and the HTC Touch

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Seriously though - no. I had one of these and hated it. It was slow and unresponsive. It looked nice though. I was considering the Touch 3G though, which is the Touch's successor. It's specs suggested it would be an alright phone.

I would not use a HP type of windows smartphone which I agree with simon211175. slow,

unresponsive, always hang. Generally Windows has a lot of bugs. I will prefer a blackberry

or Nokia. They are more stable to my opinion.
