Hi all,

I'm considering installing the Manilla 2d onto my phone.

The question i'd like to ask is this:

What does the hard reset actually do?

From what I gather it clears aboslutely everything apart from the basic winmo operating system.

If this is the case, can I reinstall the omnia to oem spec using the rom updater on the samsung site?

Also, what is 'bricking' your phone?, is it literally fried so that it's unrecoverable? or is there a recovery method, and how do you know that you've bricked it?

The reason for the questions is that i may have to come across both if the manilla 2d install goes tits up, in which case I want to know exactly what i'm dealing with.

Many thanks in advance to all.

Hard reset is exactly what you said. It is reverting your device to all its factory defaults. As for bricking this is when your phone can longer boot. It can be fixed but from what I have gathered the fix is send it it for repair. :) As far as I know no one has bricked thier device installing M2D so you should be fine. Bricking usually occurs when one tries to update thier device and they do it incorrectly.
