I just had a quick little think about this while sitting on the lav. :)

Would you use BT? The PSP dials into the PS3 via WIFI and has the option to turn the PS3 on remotely altho that option is within the PS3.

Im sure if thats option was on and someone had a work around, something else could emulate to talk to the PS3 and then u could maybe browse the music video and photos like the PSP does I guess.

I havent done that in a while but that would be better than bluetooth as if you could do that you would have access from anywhere in the world. As that is the idea of your PSP being able to turn your PS3 on and off over the internet. Ive only done it locally on wifi via my router, never been at a friends and stuck their router info into my PSP to check out how good it works. Would be a bit of a worry to go home hours later to find its still on getting hot doing absolutely nothing.

You can set an auto-power off on the new firmwares so no danger of it being sat doing nothing. I like your thinking but I doubt the remote play function could be emulated with a phone cos it's a big selling feature for the PSP so Sony probably have it pretty tightly locked up. Using the phone as a bluetooth remote might be an option.

I'd be interested to see if it can be done

Well I have some good news for you in the shape of Unify4Life. (Saw it here http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2009/01/13/use-yo...ote-and-keypad/) The product is called 'Games|Shadow'. www.unify4life.com

lt does exactly what you're after BUT (and it's a big one), it's currently only for the Blackberry.

However, I have e-mailed them and this was their response:

"Hi Jon… Thanks for the kind words, we’re excited about the new market that’s being created and how it will benefit our customers.

We are looking at porting the product to other platforms and Windows Mobile is on the list.

Please do not expect anything from us until later this year.

Thanks Again!

Regards

Michael A Nykoluk"

Hope that's of some use! :) Jon
