Guest sector Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Hey guys Asus released new phones p552w and p565 with this nice interface AsusGlide UI. Just wanted to know if we could extract this and add it to Omnia :)! It is ported in VGA screen (640x800) though but who knows maybe we could resize it for Omnia. Looks really promising might be a replace of M2D. Check video: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=qvX21ICEQjA&...feature=channel Also there are some new nice release EziMusic, EziPhoto etc. Original site in Asus: http://event.asus.com/mobile/glide/
Guest bobobird Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) I agree. And with SiRF Star III with InstantFix. A 1000% improvement over the xtras type chips on the other phones, and one that gives an almost instant fix. Might even get one... hehe Edited January 14, 2009 by bobobird
Guest XtremeMaC Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 wow, looks really promising with lots of added functionality. i think we'd better start looking at asus sub forums then :)
Guest sector Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Hey someone just dump the glide. Still i dont know for sure if there all the needed files need some testing! Here is the link http://rapidshare.com/files/183148815/asus.zip Following the thread in xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442465
Guest bobobird Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 sector, how is it coming along ?
Guest sector Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 well i havent cooked anything yet or made a cab of it i need to see how it process in xda thread. most probably i will try to install it if i can manage. im a bit scared if i cook it to the rom omnia wont start at all as it uses some system files from ASUS phone... :D maybe try to install it manually, worst case hard reset :)
Guest bobobird Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) Didnt do anything Copied all files and applied the reg mentioned on last page of the xda thread. Only things that got installed were the 3 theme cabs. No today items etc. The stardust theme is quite nice - light greyish but the background image needs correcting. Some of the mp3 ringtones are also quite nice. Edited January 15, 2009 by bobobird
