Programs I've tried: G-sen - Doesn't work gyrator2 - doesn't work *edit* updated net framwork and now it works hotfix (system) - fails hotfix (flicker) - worked coreplayer (TCPMP) does nothing SD Tune-up - unsure if it did anything pauls no threaded sms - Worked :) finally something that worked remove security - seams to have worked Its annoying me as I got another windows phone because of the software you can put on it but it doesn't seam to want to do much. Guest jonajuna Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) Programs I've tried: G-sen - Doesn't work odd, it does for others but i prefer the next one anyways :) gyrator2 - doesn't work *edit* updated net framwork and now it works aha! yep you need .net3.5 :D hotfix (system) - fails system? system what? not heard of a system hotfix. can you say what hotfix it is? hotfix (flicker) - worked...... did you have the flicker before? coreplayer (TCPMP) does nothing really? well as coreplayer is commercial and im sure youve bought it, pop over to their forums and ask them about it :) it works for plenty of others, although media player/album do a better job right know as they can direct access the hardware support ;) SD Tune-up - unsure if it did anything it did I'm sure. its not something you "see" but rather it just massively improves write time to the sd card pauls no threaded sms - Worked :P finally something that worked remove security - seams to have worked Its annoying me as I got another windows phone because of the software you can put on it but it doesn't seam to want to do much. most of the software youve installed dont "do much" well not that is visible anyway. trust me, our lovely phones do lots :( i have tomotm, pauls cameraware, M$ voice commander, a few games and my longstanding baby (since my charmer days) memorymap (OS off road satnav) M$ voice commander is funky.... my kids love it.. dad being able to say> "start media player....... play all....... start tomtom navigator.....call home at home" btw, theres a great free app for video conversion on xdadev, watched a full length film the other eve (sad i know!!) in glorious (bigger than) 720p hight def there aint another phone out there that does that not being arsey or the like, but i feel your problem is more operator error than systems error :) ;) Edited January 15, 2009 by jonajuna
Guest mch_87 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 by hotfix I mean the one in the sticky of what stuff to go for 1st... I have had other windows phones but this one seams to be a bit of a pain at the minute I've only had the phone a day or so now so i completely agree with you saying its probably me
Guest jonajuna Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 okies :) well first off, dont apply any hotfixes unless you actually experience the problem. some fixes actually create problems and it all depends on which rom version you have this phone is a bit of a pain due in the main to the massive resolution which means some tweaking is needed sometimes to get progs which in the main are designed for qvga and vga displays to actually work on a wvga device much of the gubbins inside isnt that different than the htc diamond, and plenty works ok on that :D read lots here and also read and search over on xda dev, i would say google is your friend, but nearly all the info to be found is on these 2 sites anyway if you want to run progs that are just not compatible with the wvga screen, go grab wvgafix which gives you the choice of running in vga or qvga modes too... its free :) for a list of compatiable software "out of the box" look at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...=HTC_Blackstone in the "programs games utilities that work" section, it even tells you if you have to do tweaks to get it to work i think the only HTC problem is that they have released a device with a screen that exceeds the software that is written, this will change in time ;) (i hope!!!)
Guest jonajuna Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 glad to be of help mch :) its always gonna be trouble if we stay early adopters :D
Guest indyjones Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 btw, theres a great free app for video conversion on xdadev, watched a full length film the other eve (sad i know!!) in glorious (bigger than) 720p hight def there aint another phone out there that does that Err no, you do know that 720P resolution is 720 x 1280. Which is higher than the touch HD.
Guest jonajuna Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Err no, you do know that 720P resolution is 720 x 1280. Which is higher than the touch HD. ah, okies my bad :) still freaking high qual though :D
Guest mch_87 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) Just thought I'd do a lil update... So far the programs etc that I have managed to successfully install are: -HD Tweek -Gyrator -Net framework update -Modaco no threaded messages (brilliant mod) -xn pocket (image editor) -sd card tune up (assume it worked) so a lot happier now! and will continue to look and install software that interests me.... and it was a novelty using msn in the pub :) Edited January 16, 2009 by mch_87
