Guest mementomori Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 By the way, what do y'all think about the themes? i personally like 'm a lot but find them slowing spb down. So i dont use them anymore. Does anyone have tips on how to change this?
Guest sector Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 sorry but cant do anything for the themes. i guess this is how SPB works. maybe messing with the settings can find smth better.
Guest mementomori Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 sorry but cant do anything for the themes. i guess this is how SPB works. maybe messing with the settings can find smth better. you mean spb settings? or is there a settings option in the skins wich i missed? btw i just found a little bug (i think). when you change your today screen programs, th changes are not immediatly applied. You have to softreset. i dont remember for sure but i thougt in previous roms this didnt happen? greetings
Guest sector Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 1. SPB settings ( i dont know for sure because i dont really play with it ) :) 2. What do u mean not immediately changed? Which settings? Mind that as SPB is hardcoded cooked inside the rom cannot be uninstalled. Some files cannot be removed as there are used by the ROM. I dont think this affects TodayScreens but check it out please.

Guest genexis Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Nice, any screen shots available from people who have already updated?
Guest sivaspor Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) I can't set a new internet connection ( GPRS ) actually I did it but it isn't appears in gprs connections. I'v a few times reset my pda but it's same. I need mobile internet espcially 3G whats wrong any idea? There must be an explanation about to fix this problem Yes I resolved but I was lucky I think. This problems still exists I can't change brigtness level! Battery drains faster than other roms I hate the opera widgets! :) :D regards, Edited January 19, 2009 by sivaspor
Guest aplhard Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 it is impossible... :) check in Programs. Also in on the today screen you can see SPB Menu on the right down key. Please Hard Reset if still doesnt work. It works for me and others so it must for you too. Thanks sector. However I had to started Hard reset process with two times, but the result same as before, anyway , i will download this ROM to install again. Will report the status later
Guest aplhard Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 what you need to do is softreset before you start using winbdows with the calibration etc. if you dont phone will reset during spb install. after reset spb wont be installed.. but like you said everything works. to fix just do a hard reset and after boot and seeing windows softreset. spb will be there tnx sector roms works well, spb is fast and running good. did however get some clientshell.exe crach reports but after disabeling the bug report, no more troubles. Dear mementomon. thanks for your advice, I have already done before .will try it again later.
Guest sector Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) Guys when u flash the rom for the 1st time the phone will restart again (a popup will appear finishing Preconfiguration). Dont calibrate screen yet. After 1st restart, then you will calibrate your screen, set time, pass, email etc. After that you will set your Pin Code. And at last the UC Configuration tool will appear install SPB Mobile Shell. You wont be able to do anything close it as i locked it for the installation. When it finishes the phone will reboot again and it will work. So 1 reboot for Preconfiguration + 1 more after UC finishes. I hope this is clear Edited January 19, 2009 by sector

Guest gianton Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Ringtones are removed :D . You can go to \My Storage\ . Create a folder \My Documents\ and inside that create another one \My Ringtones\. There you can put whatever you would like to and it wont fill your \Device :) Thanks working great!

I hope this is clear Frist thanks to sector I had the same problem before, I found out that if you to press any key before the Preconfiguration popup icon. The machine maybe by chances to jump over NOTto installation the MobileShell .However when I restart the Machine again and waiting all of the narmal startup process , My omnia is back to normal with SPB MobileShell operation .if the MobileShell fault in installation ,the ROM just show on usage with 7.2MB accordingly.I likes this ROM and works as well Edited January 21, 2009 by previa

Guest markkohfm Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Sector, why do you not create a clean version based on DXIA2?
Guest helladios Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) Sector, why do you not create a clean version based on DXIA2? Yes! One with Samsung dialer and phonebook removed as well (one can still make video-calls from the menu, or by using another dialer). By the way, I did not really got an answer to my question, about the usefulness of a ROM with Spb Mobile (NOT-)shell "precooked"; of course, everyone cooks what they want, and everyone else installs what they want; but, since I have been using M2D and then Spb Mobile (NOT-)shell for some time, and I have good reason to believe that such (NOT-)shells are gimmigs, I was wondering if someone could enlighten me. There are other things one can do to a ROM to make it more stable, more useful, to have more space, etc. (For example, I am using and have contributed to this site some time ago, my own "hack", albeit primitive, about "My Storage" and "My Documents" being joined into ONE Directory called "My Documents" with 16 (or 8) Mb of space; have used this on every ROM I installed and it always works flawlessly - except from "Notes" which cannot find the initial recording directory; but it still opens and works. Ideally (and, again, this is, of course, my opinion), one should stay with a (VERY) clean ROM and then choose what to install. Not even the little programs that some cooks might find useful; maybe some users use their own... etc. etc. Edited January 25, 2009 by helladios

Or did i misunderstood? You mean totaly clean based on SPB Mobile Shell? :P @helladios: eimai ki ego apo kipro. pm me. :D Please enlight me more about this technique you are using (my storange and documents). Im sorry if i missed it ;). I cant read every post heheh. If you prefer a totaly clean cooked rom based on SPB Mob Shell, i can make one ofc. Thats why in first post i said if you need me to remove/add programs let me know :). Btw i dont see many ppl interested in this rom. Shall i continue making it, how do u feel about it? If you dont need it just let me know... Edited January 25, 2009 by sector
Guest markkohfm Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 (edited) Pardon me if i am wrong, sector, but i think there are not that many people interested because spb mobile shell is installed and not everyone uses it. It would be great if you stick to keeping your roms as clean as possible as the rest of the 'clean' roms are still not as clean as they could be. IMHO, everything should be removed other than those which are required to be in the rom i.e. radio. it would be great if transcriber, block recogniser and letter recongniser are taken out as most people do not use them since most people do not use the stylus and these and using these with the fingers are difficult.
