Smartphone, Vista, and network "neighbourhood"

Hey all,

A quick question. I have done a few searches but with no luck, so thought I would post here and see what it turns up.

When my smartphone (BenQ E72) is connected to my home wireless network it doesn't show up in the general network from any of my vista machines when I look at the network. All my other machines, media devices etc show up fine. I'd really like to find a way for our smartphones to show up , so that from a pc we can navigate to the E72s and browse, copy, cut and paste files in and out etc.

Any ideas how to make them show up? They are definately connected on the network as web browsing works, streaming media with PocketPlayer from my media server works etc. Just nothing in the "neighbourhood"!

Cheers,

DavidM

The PCs show up because they are running File and Printer sharing and possibly UPNP/DLNA services, your other devices also run these services but your mobile phone does not have any need for these software services as it shares nothing - it is only a client, and so does not show up.

This raises the question - why would you want it to show up?

So that we can navigate to the E72s from other PCs on the network to copy, move files. Not all of our machines have bluetooth, or cables attached for connecting phones, whereas all have wireless access.
