The Blackjack Users engineering menu sound tweak works, although you can only increase it by 2db from the stock 10db to the maximum 12db. Still, it made a pretty noticeable difference, and, with SRS Wow XT not working on WinMo 6.1 yet, this is really the only option for increasing the volume under 6.1. I did this tweak and did a hard reset later, and the tweak persisted through the reset.
