Guest MrJoneswii Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 Hey Chefs the big advantage of having an omnia from Belgium is that it comes with an option to change the language choices are: dutch, french or english. All you have to do is go to the samsung page and download a language file that you install on your omnia. I was thinking, wouldn't be cool if somehow we would be able to create language files so that we no longer have to flash an omnia in order to change the language. Just a thought.

If you install the mui files to the phone, and then change the default language, it usually works. There are for example hungarian .cab files, that will install the hungarian language files to an english phone.

Guest sztupy Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 And do you know where I can find the Spanish.cab?? Thanks in advance If no one has done it before you have to create one from a spanish ROM. You have to grab all files that end in .040a.mui or .080a.mui

What I was thinking is that if all the languages were available as cabs, then Secany should not need to load any language specific ROMs at all, only WWE. That way he does not need to use his expensive upload service. Worth a collective effort to grab the MUIs and putting them in a sticky ??
Guest alinez Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Are you sure it's how it works? just copy the mui files to the device? then change the language in registry? Cause I did that, and it didn't work. I also tried to rename the language mui files to 0409.mui files, no success either, tried to edit all registries and hvs, did not work.. Good point. Guest PuijkeN Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Are you sure it's that easy? When I bought my Belgian Omnia it came in English. But with the option in Control Panel to change language. I therefore had to downlaod the language file (MLI) to my phone and run the language application. It then started "flashing" and erased all settings and data on phone itself. So you say it would be possible to just put MLI file there? And then change language through registry?
Guest Владик Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Whats the version of Belgian Roms? HK*** is dutch so far as I know. Is there Russian in the MLI file? tnhx greeting from Russia
Guest snoopy-doopy Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 The .mli ist NOT only a language file but a full Update of the ROM with a choice of 3 languages
