A2DP settings "Forgotten"

Hi,

When I pair my omnia with a Jabra S700 in the car I have both handsfree and A2DP for music streaming. When I then disconnect and reconnect later I have only handsfree and no A2DP. If I delete the pairing from the omnia and do a fresh pairing then A2DP returns. Obviously not a workable solution.

Any suggestions most welcome

TIA

As far as I understand it, it is not that the A2DP settings are forgotten... normally speaking, if you go to the Bluetooth settings, and right click on the Jabra, you will get a menu "Set as Wireless Stereo" or something like that... this will initiate the A2DP profile without having to re-pair.

As this is not very handy (let say safe) in the car, you need something to activate the A2DP profile more easily. What I use is a very nice freeware program called A2DPToggle. You need it on your Today screen (no real problem for me, as I use Samsung Today 2). Another good thing about it, is that you can configure it to startup automatically your music player (TouchPlayer, WMP, etc.), which in fact means that you "recover" the click you lost with the need to initiate A2DP... if you know what I mean... :)

Enjoy A2DP!

EDIT: it looks like the latest version allows you to use A2DP toggle without having it visible on your Today!!!

Hi,

Thanks for that. The *.cab will only install to device and not to storage ( or so I have found ) and a nice little finger-friendly icon has appeared for addition to my shortcuts screen. I'll be able to give it a trial later today and will report back.

Cheers

Hi,

I tried the A2DP toggle. IT _did_ enable A2DP but unfortunately disabled the handsfree functionality and locked up the phone requiring soft reset (twice). Interestingly the today screen display of A2DP toggle reported A2DP as already on (although it wasn't working), "clicking" the icon on the shortcut menu did enable it but produced the problems mentioned above.

Still : any help much appreciated

TIA

After playing a bit with the new version (which I discovered when searching for the link I gave you above), I reinstalled the older version I had, as I like it more... as said previously, this one needs to be on the Today screen, but it works perfectly for me! No locking up or nothing...

Attached is the file, as it may be difficult to find:

Thanks for that : the older version is an effective workaround. Turning off then on (on twice) re-enable A2DP without a re-pair : need to use the today screen plug in off and on at each reconnection tough which is better than nil

checkout homescreen++ on xda-dev (formerly battery status)

it's too a today plugin, but you can hide it, and it has the option to display phone, BT & wifi icons in systray, which allows a 2-clicks activation (and a2dp works just fine)

plus if you need one today plugin that can do anything, it's the most powerfull once you get to know it (it's also the most complex if you want to make your own skin, but there are a lot of them to download already)

cheers
