Guest yashgupta25 Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Hey all Can someone please suggest whether Samsung's come up with an update on the ROM for the Omnia in India. My current version id DDHH4. Is there any other ROM that I can install without screwing up things??? What do you suggest. Yash
Guest drsandy Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 My Samsung Omnia also has the same ROM DDHH4. We all Indian looking for a new update and upgrade. Thanks :)
Guest micrographics Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 The latest version is DDHJ2 and you can get it upgraded to this version by visiting nearest Samsung Service Centre. Samsung is bit reluctant to provide download of their ROMS for Indian customers and I've already logged this with Samsung. Currently from their Singapore website they provide ROM Download for 18 countries but they have not added India into it though Pakistan is listed.

Ya. But as I mentioned earlier, I am no longer in India. So its not really possible for me to get the ROM.. To PRATIK: I dont know if its SGH I900.. But this is what I could find out from my mobile. PDA: i900DDHH5/DDHH4 PHONE:i900DDHH4 Can you please tell me if this is the version on which I can install DXIA5 ROM? By the way, is it a custom ROM? or a company release? Thing is, I would not be really looking out for upgrading my ROM if I not had two problems 1) The battery meter. It always shows full, until I restart my mobile. 2) The internal 8 gb memory card says its full, even though I just have 500 mb of data inside this. When I plugged this in as data storage on my computer, even my computer says that it has just 900kb. But when I go inside this drive, select all files and folders, I see that the data is around 500 mb. I also checked if there are any hidden files or folders, but there are none. Strange. Any work aorund for this problem? Or will updating to the DXIA5 ROM solve my problem. I am really scared to experiment with my omnia, cos this is my second PDA, and I dont wanna burn any more money on my mobile fone..

I upgraded my Indian ROM from DDHH3 to DXIA5 using Windows Vista, I spent weeks reading and trying to figure out how to do the upgrade on WIndows Vista as I didn't have access to Windows XP. Eventually it was pretty easy. I was willing to take the risk. Just make sure you backup all your data before you start off. You can use your external Storage card to backup your data as flashing won't touch the External Storage. I also upgraded the OS from Windows 6.1 to 6.5 with Custom ROM with M2D from MODACO users (QBUS, Sector and Khauchai). It's very simple. My cellphone is amazing now If you need assistance, I am willing to help you all the way. Take Care

For relevant reasons I am posting this reply here, do any of you have any clue how to add Bangla/other indian language (unicode) for omnia?
