Guest Compuse Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Try GPSgate (there shouldbe a trial version downloadable) and it will work!
Guest gravityz Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 igo8 works without gpsgate makes no sense in installing extra software which might fail. Try GPSgate (there shouldbe a trial version downloadable) and it will work!
Guest DMRO Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) igo8 works without gpsgate makes no sense in installing extra software which might fail. I Have the Same problem! The GPS is detected but no satelites are found even after 1 hour outside with Xtra enabled or gpsgate or googlemaps. So if someone knows a fix for this (other than sending the omnia back to Samsung) please tell us. Thanks in advance. Oh! yes, mine was like this after going for repair and Samsung changed it's MainBoard. Edited January 23, 2009 by DMRO
Guest gravityz Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 do a hard reset and go from there i tried gpsgate also but it makes a mess off the comm ports it adds so many entries in the registry that i think sometimes multiple items point to the same resource. out of the box google maps should work out of the box igo8 should work I Have the Same problem! Guest bobobird Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 (edited) Sometimes the GPS gets stuck at writing to the gpsid_log.txt file in the root dir. Reboot and del both the gpsid_log.txt and gpsid_log.bak files and then retry. Edited January 23, 2009 by bobobird
Guest lorenzoa Posted January 24, 2009 Report Posted January 24, 2009 (edited) I use tomtom and portsplitter and that seemed to work fine on my last rom, still have to test with my new rom but I guess it will also work. There is also a registry tweak to make the gps find a signal faster, it can be found here : http://mysamsungomnia.wordpress.com/2008/1...g-enhanced-gps/ Edited January 24, 2009 by lorenzoa
