Guest RS Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 They had a dedicated portal for SPV, I used to view both parts of the site from my SPV, I noticed the main site just said "Goodbye..." earlier in the week, but browsing there from the computer brought the main site up as normal! Wierd :? Still, shame it's gone, although the SPV portal was still up last time I checked.
Guest xmob Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Hi there, Pete the xMob admin here. Glad somebody noticed the site had gone. xMob hasn't gone for good. It's former state has, but the site WILL return. Don't expect a full blown mobile site though. I decided out of the blue to pull it. It was one of those "Sod it! I've had enough!" decisions. The main reasons for pulling it were: 1) It was a bolt on, on a bolt on, on a bolt on and was getting untidy and a nightmare to administer properly. 2) It was looking old. 3) I kept seeing MY work elsewhere with no credit whatsoever and that really bugged me. 4) I couldn't be arsed anymore. When I pulled the plug, I PULLED THE PLUG. Everything should have gone at once. Those that seemed to witness a staged shutdown must have had some kind of cacheing issues. The new site development is coming on well and isn't too far away from being released to the public. But like I said nothing like it was, more of a Blog site. Have fun! Pete (ex xMob)
Guest kevlar Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Looking forward to your new site m8. Used to visit the old one. Good luck. Kevlar
