Original I910 Ringtone Request

I am having a problem with my ringtones after I installed All-in-one Manila 2D Update 19b. I can't seem to set a ringtone because it states the ringtone file is corrupted or unavailable. I went into the windows directory and the ringtone files are there. I am able to play them in Touch Player but when I try to set it as a ringtone I receive the error message I stated above. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Also if possible, can someone upload the original I910 ringtones. I would like to see if that would fix the problem.

Thanks

I encountered a similar problem recently after installing a 3rd party MP3 player.

Turns out WinMo requires mp3 files to be associated with Windows Mediaplayer.

Trying uninstalling any 3rd party mp3 players or just use a file explorer to change the file association for .mp3

Thanks for the response Daugvolf. How do I go about changing the file association using File Explorer?

I used Total Commander CE.

http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm

After you install it just browse to any old mp3 file, clickhold it and choose properties from the menu.

Choose the Associate tab and click the x next to .mp3->mp3file or whatever it is.

Then click the Associate... button and browse to \\Windows\wmplayer.exe

Make sure the parameter is %1 and click ok

That's it. WinMo will associate files with Windows Mediaplayer again

I followed all your steps Daugvolf however, when I try to launch the file using Windows Media it states: The system cannot find the file specified. I see the file because its in the Windows folder and I was able to play them using touch player. Any other ideas?

I was able to add my ringtone by using the Malina built in Music Player. Sucks I have to use this to do it but it worked this way. Thanks for your help. If you are able to come up with another solution let me know.

And your associate screen looks like the one I attached?

Are you using custom ringtones? If you are, make sure you're placing them in \\My Storage\My Ringtones

Yes the associate screen looks just like the one you attached. I am using the default ringtones installed on my I910 Omnia. I appreciate the help. What I did was use the Malina music player and it gave me the option to set as ringtone. This works but if I go to sounds and notifications, if I try to change the ringtone there, it does not accept the change.

That's really strange. I installed M2D via the all-in-one cab. Specifically the 19b version, because people have been reporting problems with the supposedly updated 21 version, but I didn't have this issue due to that.

Hopefully someone else can suggest something so you can avoid the annoyance and possible hard reset to correct it.

Try deleting the association again with the 'x' and this time associate it with the touchplayer, which if I remember correctly has a weird name that I can't recall.

That is the same version I installed. At first I thought the file was actually corrupt which was why I am requesting the original ringtone files so I can see if it was in fact corrupted. However, what I find weird is that it even though it says the file is corrupt, I am able to launch the file in touch player or the built in music player, it plays with no problem.

I hope my Sound and Notification portion of my phone isn't messed up. I guess I'll have to youtube my problem so other users can see exactly what I am talking about.

Thanks for all your help and for the program as well.
