Assuming a Bluetooth adapter/card becomes available...

Wouldn't it be cool to get bluetooth enabled TV's to compliment it?

You plug in your bluetooth sd card or adapter, and get perfect-quality images direct to your phone from anywhere in your house or office ;)

Whats the speed of bluetooth?

Also pretty sure Bluetooth has a very short range (10 meters?). It's not meant for networking across and office or house just for quick linking without the hassle of wires. And if you're within 10m of your TV why look at it on a tiny SPV screen ;-)

Could look up the technical details of bluetooth to confirm but it's late and I can't be arsed...

Wouldn't the other way round be more useful? i.e. beam the image on your SPV to the TV - handy for quick powerpoint presentations or to show a few photos to friends. The aspect ratios wouldn't match but you can't have everything!

Ok, i've looked around a bit, and it seems there are 3 range classes. Bazz: the range you are talking about is class 3, ~10m. Class 1 has a range of 100m, which iswhat i thought the range was closer to, and class 2 has a 20-30m range. Imho Class 2 would be plenty enough to transmit and recieve TV images from your main aerial about the house.

Unfortunately the Tosh BT SD card only has a range of ~10m, however if you were to use it in the way HelloDave suggests (prefectly feasable as bluetooth is a full-duplex comm's standard), that wouldn't matter too much. Assuming you could get a Class 2 (or even 3) BT "box" to go out from your telly and transmit the images, the BT SD card should till be able to pick up the images around the house.

edit- incedentally, those tosh BT SD cards will be available from expansys in 4 days time. A snip at 160 quid... /edit

NO NO NO

What you need is a WLAN card with 11mbs connection speed. You could then stream media from your computer ( with a tv card ) directly to your phone.

With WLAN you would easily have the bandwidth to do this. You get about 100m range (ouch on the battery!).

The main proble is that the SPV has a s*** media player and processor and so you wouldnt be able to take advantage of the bandwidth in providing a nice image.

The SPV is just the first step in the wireless networked home, office etc and I think it is showing people the possibilities ....

Yeah it is, hense it being 2.5G

"If 2.5 can do "this" just imagine what 3G will do!!!", well it can and it is, roll on 3 (and more reasonable charges ;))
