I have developed a mortscript cab to help with turning screendisply off when connected to Activesync for long periods. If Activesync runs when device not connected will give options to close (kill process).

It will require Mortscript runtime installed. Get here (freeware and very small in size)

What it does.

It will start when device is soft-resetted.

Run in background- therefore use some CPU - very low usuage as polling is 20secs plus

When it detects Activesync

- look to see if Synced. - if not connected after 20seconds ,

gives menu options (finger Friendly)

1. Kill ActiveSync (default, 7s timeout)

- (you can restart AS by (re-)inserting USB cable or from Programme menu)

2. Kill silently Will only ask once after each soft reset and detecting AS while disconnected.

3. wait 2min - then ask again

4. Pacifist - this mode will not kill AS. Will ask again after softreset.

3. Exit Script (will close the script process)

if Connects will give options

1. Turn Display off (default, 7s timeout)

2. wait 5min

3. wait 30min

4. Wait until Next Sync (will need to disconnect for 20secs to work)

5. Exit Script (will close the script process)

If Screen is off it can be turned with power button - pressing once, or any process eg phone call/textmessage.

If screen is switched on it will turn give options again within 20secs.

Let me know if it works well for anyone or if any problems. Critisisms or improvements welcomed

new version 0.4 added. see post 1 for download.

Found 0.3 a little annoying as kept trying to kil Activesync (= AS) after other programs (such as iGO) was running AS for some unknown reason. So added Silent kill mode which will always kill during that cycle. And Pacifist Mode which will never kill AS during that cycle.

These can be permanently enabled so doesn't ask after every soft reset by

editing first line of script

SilentKill = 2

(0) will not kill AS(pacifist mode)

(1) will kill Async without asking.

(2) will ask optionmenu on first run
