Guest Yunabeco Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 I was still playing around with my Omnia (i900) when I discovered the neat code *#1472365#, which launches a GPS control program (Nogarder GPS...a quick investigation shows the same program in \Windows), allowing to tweak some other GPS settings; notably: Settings/GPS: Mode of operation: -Standalone (was default on mine) -MS-Based -MS-Assisted Starting mode: -Cold Start -Hot Start (was default on mine) Session: -Single Fix -Navigation (was default on mine) Settings/QOS: -Horizontal accuracy in (mine: 19) -Vertical accuracy in (mine: 0) -Response time in (mine: 2) -QOP delay (mine: 12) -Max location (mine:0) NMEA logging: -Log: Size of the log file, 0 means no logging -Log file path: Same as the GPS log key -Old log file path: Same as the old GPS log key That's... probably no news for registry tweakers, but see if it can help. I see Verizon has an article about some terms mentioned; I guess some options change depending on the actual GPS status and whether it uses XTRA or not. From what I could gather, it seems the MS options are used in network GPS locks and aGPS (Network-helped fixes). Though Standalone works fine here, and stays still even with XTRA enabled.
Guest lastnikita Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 really interesting, I don't think anyone already played with those values in registry. If it's not the case please prove me wrong :) Not sure if we can improve anything neither, but eh it's still good to know, thanks.
